Comics and Movies - DC vs Marvel Winner Post 4,461

Using the Power Cosmic, he could suck all of the gamma radiation out of Hulk with a snap of the fingers. The Power Cosmic is insanely OP and versatile if you look into what all it can do.
Great point.

I always thought Surfer is only limited by his
soft spot nobility.

The Spectre versus The Phoenix is hurting my brain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just dunno much of the Spectrum (DC ) other he took on the Living Tribunal in DC vs Marvel.
- And that's saying a helluva lot of powers display.

Also is there a comparable difference between Jean Grey Phoenix vs Dark Phoenix ?
I thought recalled the Dark Phoenix destroyed an entire solar system in the Marvel comics - Phoenix saga (that's also power ! )

I'll stop it there becuz I never considered Phoenix Rachel on the level of the previously two Phoenix.

Both The Spectre and The Phoenix (aka The Phoenix Force) are nigh-omnipotent cosmic beings. Both can literally alter reality at will at any level.

There are not any differences in the cosmic entity called The Phoenix. Marvel nerfs the cosmic abilities of the entity whenever it inhabits a mortal being in varying degrees. The company likely does it to drive storylines for differing personalities.

That is why there appears to be different power levels and capabilities displayed by different characters whom the entity inhabits at any given moment. The entity itself always remains near all-powerful.

This is just my brainfart about the matchup. Both characters have been portrayed on paper differently but what each character is capable of doing are similar. That may not be apparent to some readers of The Spectre because he is almost always shown interacting at the mortal level with other beings. In contrast, The Phoenix has been shown throwing down repeatedly with other high level cosmic beings and intergalactic empires.

My first impulse is to easily go with The Phoenix. What has stalled my thinking process is that usually (not always but usually) the cosmic entity co-inhabits a mortal being. On the other hand (and while trying not to break site rule #6 ), The Spectre is literally a divine being. The closest comparison I would make for him in the Marvel Universe is Eternity. He is not on the Marvel level of The One Above All or The One Below All.

So, my nutty mind is doing an inner death match between The Spectre and The Phoenix. I will cast my vote after either I see a TKO or a knockout. :muttley:

Keep in mind, in the original Crisis on Infinite Earths, Spectre went toe-to-toe with the basically all-powerful (at the time) Anti-Monitor. Not sure Phoenix could have done that. (And I say that as a Marvel over DC fan.) The inhabiting a mortal thing the Phoenix does is the major drawback. I don't think either could destroy the other, but it's a hard call as to who would win. I'd say the Spectre.

Bold> Great point. I had forgotten about that.

Check the names!

THE MUTANTS ARE COMING! THE MUTANTS ARE COMING! THE MUTANTS ARE COMING!

:starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin:

- How long will it take to try to get use to Robert Downey Jr as .... Dr. Doom ? ... Yikes ! .. wrong armor ?

- Sorry but the recent trend and past misgivings flops, Disney just flat has me flat paranoid ...lol
and what happened to the previously anticipated Avengers Kang Dynasty .that turned into Doomsday ? Jonathan Majors ? Why couldn't they just re-cast Kang
Could this about fusing the upcoming Fantastic 4 movie to Avengers Doomsday ?

- Also in my paranoia state, i do worry that the Avengers future series won't turn out without the likes of directors Russo brothers

- Will be interesting to see some past familiar faces that were of a different superhero affiliation group that could be linked to Avengers network group.

- Some of these names i've never even heard of , so here's hoping but the script and the new actors will turn out successfully.

Short rant just to rant. There are poor, fair, good, very good and great anime out there.

I usually wait for English dubbed versions. I could not wait for the final two episodes of Solo Leveling season two being translated. Finished watching them both in Japanese a few minutes ago. Afterwards, my top three television anime drama series on my favorite list are:

1. Attack on Titan (four total seasons/94 episodes/all English dubbed)
2. Solo Leveling (two seasons & counting/25 episodes/all English dubbed except for the final two right now)
3. Jujutsu Kaisen (two seasons & counting/47 episodes/all English dubbed)

I recommend these three to anyone desiring fantastic artwork, rock solid dialogue, exceptional storylines and wonderful fight choreography. Of course, it will not surprise me if I swap two and three after season three of JK is eventually released, lol.

i'm way behind on animations, but of course i will always rate Castlevania series high and at the top of my Netflix Anime list.

Twilights of the Gods
Death Notes
Arcane
Pantheon
Blood of Zeus
Legend of Zorros
Terminator Zero
Vinland Saga
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep
Record of Ragnarok
Baki Hamma
Resident Evil - Retribution

I think a lot of people voted on coolness factor and favorites rather than actual power level. I voted on sheer power level or I'd have voted all Marvel every time.
You got me .. i'm on the Cool factor rather than power level, as much as I'm infatuated with Silver Surfer,.. on a power level, he is dwarf compared to Spectre.

Surfer is not even on the same scale as his creator, Galactus.

But i've always considered Surfer as one of the five Most Super Rare unique, popular, Individual creations of the comic book universe of all time, imo

Silver Surfer
The Incredible Hulk
Super Man
Spider Man
Wolverine

I meant to say as the most Unique " Ideas " creations among comic book world .

I have not seen any of the series highlighted in red yet. I am definitely getting around to Terminator Zero at some point.

FWIW, I have all of the remaining six in black below my top three, including Castlevania, which I positively love. Have you seen Castlevania: Nocturne yet? It is not as good as the original series but it is entertaining.

Pantheon was extremely well done. I was surprised just how well it was constructed. I could not see how they would top the first season but the second season was better in my opinion. The series fits solidly within my 30-40/45ish favorite anime range.

If you have only seen Fate/Apocrypha, I HIGHLY recommend the original Fate/Zero, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works and Fate/Stay Night and in that order. There are about ten or so Fate series but those are the top three for me. The fight choreography is superb in all three, as also seen in Fate/Apocrypha, but is the best in the latter two.

The anime studio ufotable are the masterminds behind translating the manga to video. They waste zero attention for detail in their artwork. It is just beautiful to watch. They produced the Demon Slayer series as well, which is going into its final season. In the previous season's last episode, they illustrated an enormous wide area dynamite explosion in freaking super-slow motion that last for 30 or more seconds. The viewer witnesses debris, shrapnel, people, etc., expanding from the explosion's epicenter in every imaginable angle.

The crap is just breathtakingly outstanding stuff. Just that one example blows all contemporary American/domestic studio artwork completely out of the water.
