Cowboys' Dak Prescott 'Slim Reaper' Weight-Loss Truth Revealed By Insider

What also seems to elude people is when the QB makes $50,55,60 million a year that teams starts LOSING talent. We're seeing teams dump players around the league due to pricey contracts. You can't always add "tools" to your offense when the QB takes a quarter of the teams cap.
It's the way the league operates at the QB position. There are (4) QBs that make $5mm less per year than Dak. Yes, it would be nice to have that extra $5MM/year, but the way teams manage the cap makes that $5MM almost insignificant. The only team I can think of that was able to have a top-tier QB and not pay them top money was the Pats when Brady was there. I care less about the $60MM than I do about the 4-year deal. Like virtually every 'big' contract, when he hits the 4th year, it won't seem so big. Probably still top 10, but not 'highest paid player in the league'. Getting that 5th (or 6th) year at the same money would've been nice, but Dak apparently has a very good agent, plus he held all the cards. There's no way the Cowboys could've kicked Dak to the curb and relied on the draft or on signing a similarly skilled QB as a free agent.

Another thing that drives me crazy is how long it takes the Cowboys to sign players that they KNOW they're going to keep, and it costs them money every time. See: Micah Parsons. Had they jumped on the Dak contract earlier, they could've made him the highest-paid player in the league and saved at least $5MM/year.

Hopefully, we get McMillan in the draft and can improve our OL and secure a real RB. We'll be in good shape if we can get that accomplished. If not, well,,,,,,,,,

MVP voting/placement doesn't work that way... no matter how much you want it to.

Just in case the link doesn't work...

AP NFL MVP voting:
1. Lamar Jackson 49-0-1-0-0 = 493
2. Dak Prescott 0-17-13-11-6 = 152
3. Christian McCaffrey 0-17-12-11-4 = 147
4. Brock Purdy 0-9-5-12-13 = 97
5. Josh Allen 1-5-11-3-6 = 80
6. Tyreek Hill 0-2-6-9-14 = 60
7. Patrick Mahomes 0-0-2-2-2 = 12
8. C.J. Stroud 0-0-0-0-4 = 4
9. Matthew Stafford 0-0-0-2-0 = 4
10. Myles Garrett 0-0-0-0-1 = 1

*1st place: 10 points
2nd place: 5
3rd: 3
4th: 2
5th: 1

It absolutely does work exactly how I said it does.

Up until like 2021, they didn't even vote "cumulative", meaning they just asked who the voter has as their MVP. Dak got ZERO first place votes and hasn't even notched a single first-place vote his whole career. Even this year, Josh Allen got 1, despite notching only 80 cumultaive votes. So much for Dak ever being considered an "MVP" when nobody ever even game him 1 first place vote.

It was only in the last a couple years, most likely because the NFL gets gambling revenue and they like to bet on every random data point to get some more revenue, that they changed the format.

So like I said, it can actually happen that the dude can in reality be a turd and still be "MVP runner up" by well over 300 VOTES bruh... in this case, second place is definitely the first loser. Like I said, Dak was getting called out in the bye as an absolutely joke, particualrly when he got once again thrashed by the 49ers team. Dallas had to go back to dumbing down the offense and force-feeding Lamb again, but as usual Dak couldn't beat any good defense and sucked against teams playing heavy-zone when he needs to actually read the field. This year since he didn't have a widely-superior personnel surrounding him, he was average or sucked against pretty much every defense.

And BY FAR, his absolute worst game in his career was against the Packers in his alleged "MVP season", throwing duds all over the place and looking like a deer in the headlights and he picked up last season right where he left off.

Regurgitating the same bias, Dak hating, talking points that have been argued at nauseum on this forum won't work on me.

Dak is better than you say he is, and the NFL agrees... argue with them not me.
