I'm saying it wouldn't matter if they were. How can it be a top-three OL with the worst tackle tandem in the league?![]()

I'm sure the fanbase will learn to love this pick when they see Booker and Bebee (duo block) put Jalen Carter on skates and dump him into the LB's laps. So, now that I've had a good night's sleep, I am more receptive to the Booker pick. I admit, last night, I was quite underwhelmed with it. But, it actually makes a lot of sense to grab the best guard in the draft. And now we have 3 Tyler's on the line!! The Great Wall of Tylers!! LOL
Not while Mazi continues to get prison raped up the gut.I'm sure the fanbase will learn to love this pick when they see Booker and Bebee (duo block) put Jalen Carter on skates and dump him into the LB's laps.
Well, I agree...to a point. Controlling the time of possession and keeping the defense of the field will only help keep Mazi from being continuously raped. Plus, the draft is far from over and getting that upgrade at DT1 is still a high possibility. Not while Mazi continues to get prison raped up the gut.
Just seems like a replay of the 2016 theme.Well, I agree...to a point. Controlling the time of possession and keeping the defense of the field will only help keep Mazi from being continuously raped. Plus, the draft is far from over and getting that upgrade at DT1 is still a high possibility.
Getting that DT in the 1st round wasn't going to make the team any better right away. OL play and dictating what we want to do on offense will. If we can't run the ball and keep the pocket clean, especially up the middle for Dak, we will continue to see our defense on the field, and as a result to that we will tire as the game wears on. Come the 4th quarter we are getting gashed and lose the game by one score...a pattern that has been a continuous theme. I want to see us gashing opposing teams in the 4th and holding the lead.Just seems like a replay of the 2016 theme.
Dominant run game at first but once opponents loaded the box the current QB could not make them pay.
All the while this is going on it could be argued that the weakness of the 2016 defense was just as responsible for failure as Dak's ineptitude.
I already know he can't win even with a stellar o line.
So, might as well try and see what the impact of having a stellar d line can produce.
That's my thinking.
I don’t quite understand what you are saying in this post. Do I think Booker was their highest rated player on their board when we picked? Probably so.They forced their first picks didn't they? Booker couldn't have been the highest rated player on their board, could he?
The point is, if they do not take a WR at 44, they may as well not daft a WR at all. Chances are they won't find one better than what they have already. They can wait for a RB, but without a 4th round pick they run the risk of getting locked out again and not taking one like last year.
I think their first round pick locks them into what they do in rounds 2 and 3.
I would not be opposed to drafting the Alabama QB and developing him. He would be a cheap Dak replacement. Our quarterback sucks. That's the #1 eed.
No doubt bro. While I disagree that taking Grant and replacing Mazi makes whole defense changing first day impact, you still make fair counterpoints as to how TOP effect both sides of the ball.Getting that DT in the 1st round wasn't going to make the team any better right away. I'm not a big fan of Dak, for obvious reasons. But I do see that he needs the running game and a clean pocket, and he is not going to be able to elude the pass rush like he once did, these injuries he delt with have taken a toll on his mobility for sure. Also, Dak isn't going to be here much longer than 2 years or so, especially if he fails to bring a championship, so, just holding that thought for a second, to whomever the QB of the future will be, at least to foundation for him to succeed has been laid. Just like it was for Dak in his rookie year.
Look, I'm with you on the thoughts of being able to stop the run. Keeping the defense off the field is the first goal and then having adequate players on defense will back that up...it will come. When teams have less opportunities on offense because we are keeping the ball longer, they will start to take chances and force things, especially if they are losing.
That’s why there was only four and there’s not that much difference, I still think we make a trade for one before the seasonIt's not a deep WR draft.
I think Tet was their guy and when he was off the board they had to weigh their options. Between Tet and players such as Golden and Egbuka there were other players ranked higher on their board.I don’t quite understand what you are saying in this post. Do I think Booker was their highest rated player on their board when we picked? Probably so.
I don’t believe that the Cowboys went into this draft targeting OL. I think that’s the way the board fell. We will probably never know for sure.
I will say that I doubt that the Cowboys graded the top end WRs as high as the talking heads graded them. I think that the Cowboys really did only have 12 first round grades and I would guess that Booker was one of the last ones left on that list.
I am against the idea of forcing a WR pick at 44. We just need to stick to the board and draft BPA. Otherwise we end up with an over drafted player and still have a hole that wasn’t filled.
I do like the idea of trading for a WR/DL/RB if we don’t end up getting what we need out of this draft.
Dart best quarterback in this draft, I knew the Giants were going to take him somehow. They had a good first round.I would not be opposed to drafting the Alabama QB and developing him. He would be a cheap Dak replacement.
