Rate the last movie you saw

People to the movies again? Like, INTO the actual theatre?

Haven't been since... Endgame I guess and haven't felt the need for any movie that has come out since.

Transformers One was close, but in the end I'm fine owning the 4k Blu Ray.

Cinema was one of my things in the first 35 years or my life but not ever since... is the home theatre too good? Are the ticket and beverage prices too outrageous? Do people just annoy me too much these days? Can't really put my finger on it. Maybe once the kids grow old enough I'll go back.

I used to love the theater and even worked at one in high school. It sucks now. I was going to go to the latest mission impossible, but it was $40 for two people. That, combined with people talking or on their phones the whole time, it’s a terrible experience. I’ll wait a month for it to come to streaming.

It used to take 8 months to a year+ for a movie to come to VHS.

Can't hold your pee as long as you used to? Yeah, me too.

I grew up loving going to the movies. That feeling has never changed for me.

I have made some compromises, though. In my opinion, ticket pricing is about five or six bucks higher than it should be for my area. I do not watch as many movies in theaters for that reason.

Additionally, I prefer going to matinees over late afternoon and evening showings. Parents have *seemed* to stop bringing their children to matinees as often as they did years ago. Teenagers aren't coming early as often as they did before.

Usually, I see a max of 10 - 20 fellow moviegoers in my theater holding 150+ seats per screen. I can pretty much pre-purchase a ticket through Cinemark or Fandango with a seat away from others. Sometimes I have a good buffer of a few rows or seats on the same row from the nearest seated person.

I buy aisle seats. It is the quickest way to leave and come back if the old bladder is not as patient with a movie as my brain is.

Haha good one about not being able to hold my pee. Back in the day it was always a litre of Cola (yes the Super troopers LITRE lol ) and it wasn't a problem. Nowadays if I consumed that much soft drink I'd never make it to the end of a movie without having to take a leak. And back in the day I had my girl in my arms the whole movie, now that would give me a sore back and we're both happy about our own seat (we do cuddle on the couch though and she falls asleep within the first 15 minutes of practically any movie lol) . I'm 46 by the way. Not 86 as it may seem when reading that.

So that's it you think? The Movies are for the young? Maybe...

When I was a kid, your parents could just drop you off at a theater for a couple of hours and go do chores. Every Saturday I would go and watch stuff like The Apple Dumpling Gang or some other really old kids movie. I loved it.

Shakiest Gun in the West. Hahaha. Don Knotts was the best.

Ha...I still say it was the best purchase ever from the $5 bin at walmart years ago. I have also bought it on google play. Have not used the dvd player in years now.

I have never heard of this Miniseries. 3 episodes of about 1hr 20 minutes (without commercials).

Early Bryan Singer thing? Bad Hat Harry Production.

It is an interesting premise and movie. However they could have made it a little more edgier? Seemed to disney like. Also they could have trimmed this one down some and it probably would have been better. If you are bored and kind find it, give it a shot. Just go in with lower expectations. It kind or reminds me of the Philadelphia Experiment movie with Michael Paree? Which that story, not the movie, has some ties to this one.

Was on a Cary Grant kick last week.



This is one of my favorites. Love WWII movies and comedies and Cary Grant does a great job in this one and the next one...





Another comedy, not WWII related, from him that kind of reminds me of father goose a tad..



Cary Grant, Alfred Hitchcock....you just can't go wrong.

I kind of like it when hollywood gets a few remakes right. Where they are as good or better than the originals. Where you can watch both and enjoy them.

Another one I have not heard of but was a decent watch. Nothing original here but interesting.



This reminds me of some of the cheesy 70s cannibal movies. Not very good but if you like that kind of thing it is ok...just go in with very low expectations.



Australian version of Red Dawn. But more watered down and teen centric.

Flight of the Phoenix was a great movie. The remakes of that and Magnificent 7 were both good too.

Another one of my favorites was "Sahara" with Humphrey Bogart. The remake with Jim Belushi wasn't bad either.

The Thirteenth Floor: 7/10
Excellent premise, but horribly dated looking and bad acting. An old guy owns a company with a fully working simulation of 1930's LA and secretly has been going into the simulation and then figures out that his reality is actually a simulation. He gets murdered and his younger co-worker has to try to solve the murder and ends up going deeper down the simulation rabbit hole. Similar themes to the Matrix, which came out the same year, but terrible in comparison. It could have been better with a better lead actor, imo.

Yeah that new one with Ice Cube looks really crappy. Looks low budget as well with the CGI.

There are a few lower budget movies with the the premise of basically people online. I do like the idea as it is reflecting societies use of social medias. Some of those movies have been ok, most are done through cheaper budgets and actors so they can be stiff.

Not bad. Not a big budget one and the ending was predictable.
With that said for a movie I have never heard of, I kind of liked it.

The father kind of reminded me a little of Ed Harris.



Have not watched that one in years but still like it.
Although a few of the effects were cutting edge at the time, they look hokey. This might be one of those movies that would be a good remake with a little grittier style.
