If Parsons plays well this season, Jerry could always tag him and decide whether or not he wants two first round picks, or match an offer.

Running back (4)
  • Javonte Williams
  • Jaydon Blue
  • Miles Sanders
  • Phil Mafah
This has two proven veterans. It also has two very solid draft choices.

The Practice Squad includes Malik Davis.

Fullback (1)
  • Hunter Luepke
He can block solidly, catch passes, and runs as well as Daryl Johnston, Moose.

With current offensive linemen and tight ends, they will produce at a strong level.

Bill Parcells tried for four years to get as strong blockers at tight end as is presently on roster with Dallas, right now.
Show me a worse RB room in the league.

It is just darn depressing that they followed up last year with this group. I have not seen Williams so we are hoping for a miracle.

I was fine letting Dowdle go. He was fine. But had not impact in wins. They probably had a bottom 5 running back room last year. Should have been so easy to upgrade. But here we are.
Great post. Sadly I don't we moved out of that bottom 5 rb room, but I hope to be proven wrong.

JD Daniel's Jones needs to go back and watch the part in his Netfix series, where the best team in the league doesn't win without a good running back.
Myself, I like Jack in the Black, if just a chaser sitting on the porch.

Paying any RB top dollar is dumb IMO and we saw a few teams regret their big RB contracts too. Pass rushers you pay for and they are generally worth it.

Dak is marginally a top-tier QB and got paid. No one doubts Parsons is on a HOF course. This doesn’t seem to be the contract to pay around with to me.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Jerry would be content just using up three years of Micah’s prime and then taking a comp pick after making a qualifying offer.

He’s mad now.

Exactly, Whiskey !!
Micah is running out of stupid things to do. He should just put his big boy pants on and go play his butt off for $24 million dollars. Instead, he's shooting himself in the foot with every step he takes. Imagine telling the whole league you have a chronic back problem but you'd like $45 million per season. Riiiiiiight.
The thing about it is he either has health concerns or he is faking an injury to stay off the field. If I'm a GM, I'm factoring whichever it is into any deal proposal. He's either damaged goods, or he's a front running liar who's willing to leave his team hanging. Longevity is a factor, as he has already said he doesn't plan on having a long career, so what if he decides to up and leave halfway through his new deal? What if his back issues are chronic and force an early retirement? How much dead money hits the books if he has to end it early? I have no idea what his agent is telling him, but this game they are playing has the potential to lose Micah a boatload of money. For what? It's absurd.

Zion Childress...I liked his college tape, and he carried a physical style of play to the Cowboys. Sucks they cut Zion especially after the high of making the 53 yesterday.
They may have told him yesterday that they are doing this

I am assuming that's a 1st and 2nd in 2026 and a 1st and 5th in 2027. Considering the Packers would probably be in the latter part of the round, I am not convinced that's good enough compensation. But still worth discussing as a hypothetical
They can pound sand.....lol
Offer
2026 1st and 2nd\
2027 1st and 3rd OR 2027 1st and 5th AND 2028 1st
Then we can talk....lol

I make of it that they're looking for help in the secondary.
This last pair signed are depth at the start of the season. One or both will end up on the practice squad unless they match top receivers.

Kaiir Elam Could Be the Breakout Player

Kaiir Elam has the size (6’2”) and physical style to thrive in Dallas’ system. While inconsistent early in his career, Elam showed flashes in press-man coverage.

If he takes the next step in 2025, pairing him with Diggs could give the Cowboys one of the most physical corner tandems in the NFC.

Eberflus needs to use him differently, I read he’s much better in man than zone….like night and day.

I’m trying to picture a meeting last spring with all the FO brain trust. The question is raised, “Who can we add to improve our RB situation?”

And the answer was “Let’s get Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders in free agency.” Then they wait until round 5 to address it in the draft.

I have nothing against Jaydon Blue. But coupling him with Williams or Sanders is the best we could do? Knowing for over a year they had a huge need at RB?
