To me I don’t care if the average age is 23 or 24 or 25…..

But I do not want my team to have an average age of 28. Commanders are playing with fire. And I get it they’ve drafted so bad In the Rivera era they don’t have a choice. But yeah when guys prime years are over before 30 and you have 25 players over 29? Yikes.

Correct. But no one does that. The good organizations keep young talent. I mean the Eagles just won the SB and they are the second youngest team. If you have young talent that’s still playing for a big contract you have an edge on teams with older talent who have already been paid.

Yeah but the point is. How young a team is, doesn’t really give you an accurate indication of 1. Whether they will win a championship that year. Or 2. Whether they will develop into a great team in the next couple of years.

Cowboys were 3rd youngest in 2022 and got worse by 2024.

It’s just not *that* important of an indicator overall. Especially with how much turnover happens year to year in the league. What really matters is how young the team is and how talented the young pieces at core positions are.

You’re missing the point. That “young” team actively got worse within 2 seasons. Due to the level of turnover in the league.

Being young right now doesn’t mean spit for how good the team may or may not be 2 seasons from now.

Ok, so why did they keep Mazi? There is no quickness or speed with him. Pretty much destroys that speed and quickness mantra.

They asked Mazi to lose weight to help with his quickness...I wont say that it necessarily worked, but they asked him to do that for a reason. Plus Jerry is the one setting the roster so Mazi was pretty much guaranteed a spot regardless of what Eberflus wants.

I'm expecting a ton of shooting the gap to get upfield and mixing in some slants along the DL on run downs. Eberflus refers back to Marinelli quite a bit. I'm hoping he mixes in a little Rob Ryan into this defense, but the Marinelli style seems to be closer to what he's emulated in Indy and Chicago.

Of course, often subjective. Especially in this case, as "solution" could indicate the final piece, the most important piece, or the only piece that matters. Since football is a game w/ 11 players on O, it's highly unlikely that the last definition would be used. More likely is that he's being called the most important piece.

Solution being used in this sense really sounds more like a media buzzword than anything.

I agree, that it should be subjective in its interpretation and win/loss for a 53 man roster is a team stat, unfortunately, the pro and anti Dak (and now Micah) factions has made it abundantly clear what the intent is. The fact that the op mentioned that at that salary he should be the solution indicates that the salary alone dictates the player should be the difference between winning championships vs not.

The reality is salary is a market rate assumption that is very specific to sports...next man up gets slotted based on prior production and what the last contract signed was at the same position with a little bit of impact related to tenure/age, injury, draft position, etc.

14 of the games were the same, including head to head. the only difference is 3 games. chicago vs. detroit, titans vs. texans, cardinals vs. niners.

they won all of theirs. while we lost all of hours. Niners were worse than AZ. detroit were better than chicago, so that evens out.

we played texans and got destroyed. they played titans and destroyed them.

one game difference. yeah. not that much difference really. one game and we went 7-10 and they went 12-5. nuff said.

It still sucked.

No one really talks about it but the tush push seems to be on the decline. Just 39-48 last year which is roughly an 81% success rate. All 3rd/4th and 1 yard QB runs across the league were at an 84% success rate. Without Kelce it seems to be a little more beatable. I'm not sure the play is worth adjusting your roster over.
