Micah left for a reason

Lol, he left for money and now he gets to freeze.
He's a PA native he's tough! And that GB weather will toughen him up more. A long with better coaching and supporting cast. At least he doesn't have to feel all alone out on the field while his teammates watch him do all the work. He is in a place where he's wanted and appreciated.

To win. He left because he wants a SB. Plain and simple. He’s not a dumb guy.
All true

Which kind of destroys the argument to the contrary put forth by many on this forum

Parsons is the polar opposite of a company man

We needed more like him in the locker room.

To win. He could make way more money here with sponsorships etc. He left because he wants a SB. Plain and simple. He’s not a dumb guy. He sees what they do. He knows he now has a chance with a young team in GB. This team isn’t going anywhere for a long time…….
Honestly, it's because he was playing out of scheme to make big plays and he was doing it too much, and that's how we were getting ran all over.

You need to read this.

Gonna have to agree to disagree. Micah had no say in where he went. He did not choose GB. We could have traded him to the Raiders, Saints, Cards, Bucs, anyone at all. He wanted "highest paid non-QB" and he got it. Let's see how he handles a team that is not a "made for TV" drama. I hope that every Packers opponent this year runs right at him. They don't call that the "Black and Blue Division" for nothing.

He could have not agreed to the extension. Micah certainly had leverage here. He also took a deal that was about the same as what Dallas offered. Maybe less when you include state taxes.

At the end of the day, something happened that he didn't want to be in Dallas and he approved going to Green Bay. Cowboys fans are going to be salty about it but with all of our complaints about Jerry for the last 30 years, his position should be understandable.

Um, I don't think that anyone asked him if he would "pretty please play for the Packers." He was traded to them and they extended him. Maybe those negotiations started before the trade was complete. Or not. I don't know the exact timing of things. But what I do know is that he did NOT have a "no trade clause" and, thus, he had no say whatsoever in this matter.

I don't think any team would agree to give multiple picks for a player who doesn't want to be there. He might have "back tightness" when he gets there. As such, Micah had leverage over where he went. The deal took all three to agree, Dallas, GB and Micah. Micah couldn't force himself to go to any team he wanted but OTOH, Dallas couldn't have just dumped him anywhere. That's probably why the haul wasn't quite as good as we had hoped for Dallas.

I dont see that.

If he really was about winning he never tried to negotiate with JJ on his own back in March/April. The guy wanted to stay.

I think its a combination of money and hurt ego. Micah is a small kid who needs people that give him the feeling he is needed and likeable. He had the naive approach that talking with JJ shows that he is something special to JJ.

JJ is a shark instead. He just tried to avoid his agent. He tried to use Micahs "Weaknesses" to get a better deal for Dallas.

I think after some time Micah understood. And he felt hurt. Thats when he started with his "bye dallas" twitter crap. Now that GB offered him more money Dallas was able to is also a reason.

Though I understand and agree --to a point. Parsons #1 thing he is concerned with is NOT winning but making money. Again, understand but winning is not his #1 issue. If Parsons really put winning #1, then he would have played his senior year at Penn State. But nope, he held out, as he just did with our Cowboys. Why? His own interest in making straight cash homie. Parsons didn't want ti risk getting injured his senior year to protect his investment---himself.

Then ins Dallas, he said repeatedly, that he didn't "need" to make $40M/ year and when Jerry offered Parsons alittle more than TJ Watt, which would make Parsons the HIGHEST paid non-QB in the NFL. Still wasn't enough. So that was a straight out LIE. He not only didn't make alittle more than TJ Watt but shattered it. $47M Again, the players should try to get as much as they can. Fans ( short for fan-atics) only care about WINS, which Cowboys fans are been ticked off for decades. We can't even get to a darn NFC Conference game but Parsons ( Dak/Lamb) want to be paid like they are Superbowl Champions. Hell, hey have a losing record in the playoffs but want their cash. They can buy their own ring(s). It is always about getting paid over winning with players....especially in Dallas. And with the Cowboys franchise, being famous/popular is 2 and 3rd on the list. Winning is not even in the Top 3.

Parsons is a great player. And leaving Dallas will hurt. He might go further with Green Bay and probably will since this franchise love Soap Opera with the director being clown Jerry. But I will say, after the love affair Parsons is on now with the Packers, the drama will eventually ooooooze out of the tooth paste tube and Packers and their fans will get eventually tired of his drama.

The trade news and new contract details came down at the same time so it had to have been negotiated beforehand

Jerry was VERY competent in not agreeing to pay a defensive player 47 million per season. Paying the guy 47 million would have been incompetent.
That wasn't the other option. It's bizarre Jerry still has his fan boys after the past 2 years even if we wanted to ignore the prior 3 decades

Look at the poll on Michael being traded, you are in the minority big time.

The offense was fine for years. The problem was the defense that he was on. Run defense in particular where defenses ran at him for getting out of uis lane to try to get to the qb.

Has anyone seen the video on you tube of parson with greenbay qb months ago. Looks like they are preplan this . Also there is a video of someone that talked to parson agent. The agent said Jerry is make stuff up. All this seems like fake drama . you dont give away your best player to a divison rival. Also lets not forget the calls in the games against greenbay. Back when rodgers played Mccarthy wouldnt kick field goal in overtime .And there was other calls that helped greenbay. All this seems out of place. Why are cowboys helping green bay and was even doing it in games. .

The poll was structured in a way that didn’t allow for “reason”.

I voted yes but I absolutely do not feel Jerry performed his job in a satisfactory manner.

There were two bad choices. Trading was the least bad choice.

And both choices were due to Jerry’s ineptitude as a leader and a GM
