Jerry is still trying to rationalize the Micah trade

I don’t get why people can’t agree it was good for both teams. Anyone watching can clearly see Packers are a good defense. He puts them over the top. But it’s all about be Ming right on Jerry. We know he’s bad. Doesn’t mean the trade shouldn’t happen.
Packers might of been 1 player away, the Cowboys weren't and need help at multiple spots. They couldn't get past the divisional round of the playoffs as currently constructed. Fans are delusional that this team could compete for a title. Add in that 3 players would take up 50% of the cap, it made sense to move in another direction.

I prefer the Taco vs. Watt debates.

This is getting old. We have a game on Sunday don’t we?
If we lose the week 4 game then I expect it will get worse. Problem is if we win I doubt it will get any better. :p

We went from people arguing that you can't win a Super Bowl paying a high-priced QB and that it was better to have one on a rookie deal.

So is it really wise to pay one defensive player more than 26 of those QBs?

I don't always agree with Jerry but I think he is right on this, MP is a great pass rusher but it never translated into a good defense. How are they going to build around him at $47m a season while paying a QB, WR, etc?

Agreed plus can't really grade the trade till 2028. All it takes is Love to get injured and that draft pick could start to rise even higher. I think last night was more Matt Lafleur has Dan Quinns number more then anything to do with Parsons.
All 1st rd picks are very valuable.

“We traded a HOF player and got two Top 30 draft picks we hope can be as good as Micah.” — Jerruh
You forgot to mention that we also got a Pro-Bowl NT that we all been wanting for many years. Micah played good against a mediocre team. Big deal. Kenny held his own against the best O-line in the league. Let's see how Micah does in January in 10-degree weather against playoff teams. He always disappeared in January against playoff teams with us. As of now the trade is a big question mark. Time will tell who got the better of the trade.

I don’t disagree….but I do wonder what they would’ve looked like by adding Clark and having Micah…..but I’m perfectly fine moving on. He’s rubbed me the wrong way since leaving….

Ahh phooey, Jerry doesn’t need to explain. We got a good deal for the guy. of course he’s good but not worth all that money he wanted. Green Bay will find out.
when the honeymoon is over

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on the Micah Parsons trade: “Everybody’s looking for the guy that could absolutely singly make the defense. Everybody wants that guy. Now, we had him for four years, and you see what we did for four years. So, my point is, one guy doesn’t do it.

“Now, the closest thing there is, for one guy to make that much difference, is a quarterback. When you start going from there, then, man, you’ve got to really look at allocating 100 million, 200 million dollars. And allocating that over many players and positions. That’s exactly what I did.”

This reminds me of Daniel Jones vs Sequon Barkley. First, the Giants brass didn't really want to lose Sequon and not to the Eagles, but they felt they "had" to extend Daniel Jones. They picked the wrong player.

I'm not a Micah super fan and a certified Dak "hater", but if you ask me, we should have let Dak go and signed Micah. But even if you trade Micah, not to GB. I said from the jump that this has the potential to be their Haley trade. They have been the youngest team in the league for like 3 years straight and they are loaded. Why would any smart GM send him THERE?

I mean we cleared up cap, we added a really good DT who isn’t young but isn’t old either he could have another good 5 seasons. DE doesn’t lack talent. Sam Williams is an early round pick from a big school and an exceptional athlete. He looks like he’s starting to figure it out. The second round pick from this year looks like a good pass rusher. Kneeland is an early round pick as well. Fowler is a situational pass rusher but he is a good rotation player as well. And we have two extra first round picks to draft one if we’d like. We all know Micah consistently gets sacks and pressure, but he’s also a big mouth who turns consistently soft the second teams gameplan for him and start running the ball at him in big games. What he’s doing in GB is typical regular season play from him, no one should be surprised. But they’re one of the teams that exposed him. For 40 million dollars for a DE the glaring flaw is a problem. ALSO, the elite pass rushers haven’t been winning super bowls lately

Amen brother

I am really going to enjoy Jerry's next public meltdown. Last year it was the constant heckling about Derek Henry, This year he is going to have to hear about Micah Parsons all year. It's going to be epic

He is as pathetic as his fans on this forum.

He should be rationalizing why he didn't do it a year or so ago, when we could have scooped a Herschel Walker type haull for him.
When everybody was throwing around the generational player nonsense.

It would be stupid to trade him a year ago when you were contending.
