Jerry is still trying to rationalize the Micah trade

We got Clark & Cap Space too.

We are gaining a lot of players from this.
I agree with quantity.........but we need to hit on each player AND either win Super Bowl OR deep postseason with them making a huge impact.

Drafting 2 out of 4 players not worth the 5th-year option won't cut it.

I mean you trade your best player and have 4 first rounders over the next 2 years….whether we agree or not….adding 4 top 30 players is a rebuild. In two years this will be a different core.

Well the comment was since the Packers loss.
IMO they traded him cause they were upset over Parsons/DM not going back to the original offer-basic terms talked among Stephen/Jerry and Parsons.
I think they wanted them to fold, and they didn't, asked for a trade and pouted on the sideline. That probably played a role in listening to offers by other teams.

The draft is always "rebuilding" your team. Dallas traded a handful of minor picks this offseason for talent.

I disagree. They need to make the team better. They will never get Micah again or equal value. But can they get 2 or 3 starters? If so it was worth it.

IMO there is no soft rebuild. Just a front office that likes the smell of their own farts.

A soft rebuild doesn't include re-sigining Dak, CDL, Osa, Ferguson, Bland etc...
The only rebuilding they do is letting free agents go and then hope the draft can make up for it.

To me, they wanted to keep Parsons till they felt betrayed by him/agent.

They wasted a year with McCarthy for stubborn reasons.

I truly believe each year they think the team can get hot at the right time and make a run.
A new head coach, Top-2 in cap space and 4 first round picks isnt soft-rebuild to you?

Of course he is. Half the fanbase eats it up.

We never won a Super Bowl with Micah so it makes sense to trade him for assets.

If you're going to use that logic, then why not trade Ceedee, Tyler Smith, and Daron Bland also? Lamb and Bland are the same age as Micah.

Cowboy Fans:

We need 2 LBS, RT, WR, S, DT, RB!

Also Cowboys Fans: Screw those first round picks and pro bowl DT, I want Micah!

1. Lamb helps the $60M Investment. Could you imagine this offense without him?

2. Tyler Smith will get a contract half of what Micah got

3. Bland is not even top-5 paid at his position

I don’t think that’s why they traded him. That’s not their MO to get butt hurt and let someone go. Todd France and Dak got ugly as well and Zeke.

No the argument is he never won with Micah so why would you spend 188 million on a position that’s important but that’s been proven not to work? And Myles, Crosby and Watt are more complete edge rushers then Micah.

Packers might have been 1 player away, the Cowboys weren't and need help at multiple spots. They couldn't get past the divisional round of the playoffs as currently constructed. Fans are delusional that this team could compete for a title. Add in that 3 players would take up 50% of the cap, it made sense to move in another direction.
I don’t disagree at all, but this isn’t the route they wanted to take. They intended to sign him.

They traded him because mismanagement of the situation turned it into a mess, now they try to spin it as if this was the plan all along.

I'm still not thrilled with the trade and will have to see how it all plays out. However, we all have to remind ourselves this defense couldn't get it done with Parsons and likely needed several more players anyway.

I do think about game 1 and if there would have been a different result if Micah was there. I suppose we would have had a better chance to contain Hurts, but I'm not sure we would have faired as well with Barkley running up the middle without Clark with Mazi in there. It's just hard to quantify the impact Parsons has at other positions along with his own.

I'm personally tired of hearing about Parsons and hope we can just move forward.

Still have zero issues with this trade, weren't going to win with him, need more players.
That is flawed logic lol. We havent won with dak or lamb either. Yet jones boys paid them top of market and more.
Fact is we had all 3 of them and got spanked at home by GB in the playoff game in 2023-24.

If they couldnt beat them then ,how are they going to beat them now?

GB added micah, then proceeds to beat Detroit and dominate them, then do the same to
Wash, 2 of the best teams in NFC last year.
GB is allowing 15.5 points per game while scoring 27 pts per game.

I understand the chances of another Micah are highly unlikely but 2 or 3 starters in what mold.........Tyler/Booker/Lamb or Mazi/Taco. All I am saying is yeah, Jerry can make this a nice windfall if he doesn't try and get cute.
Personally, since we have additional draft capital, I would tweak the scouting/personnel dept a bit with some fresh talent. Hell, pluck one of Howie Roseman's assistants.....lol Do something different, anything.
