Jerry is still trying to rationalize the Micah trade

Jerry Jones: Micah Parsons trade maximizes chance of winning Super Bowl with Dak Prescott

Published September 12, 2025 12:53 PM

This is a glimpse into Jerry's problematic mindset

He's deadset not solely on winning a Super Bowl, but more importantly on winning a Super Bowl "with Dak" as the centerpiece.

That would validate him paying Dak historic money. And make Jerry a genius in the process.

Why add the Dak caveat. Shouldn't it be about winning, period? No matter who's the QB?

This attachment to his guys and his ego is an issue that continues to hamstring this organization

We're so screwed

It makes me very happy to vent my frustrations and concerns with the Cowboys.

I can’t imagine being happy with Cowboys this era. And not providing constructive criticism seems almost disgraceful.
You know, a fan has to endure ups and downs. All your fantasy team players and teams will fall. I know, I know, 30 years......I hear that so much on this site it makes me ill. We live in a country of entitlement.

This is my issue as well. He’s tied to Dak so tightly that he can’t separate his Super Bowl goals from his attachment to Dak.

Dak is ok, but Jerry seems to feel that has found his next Aikman.

that's it, in a nutshell

To be fair, the media needles and prods Jerry into answering those types of questions and/or defending those types of decisions.

I'm not saying he wouldn't bring it up himself of course because after all it is Jerry, but the frequency, persistence and longevity of the media questions and attention play a huge role in it lingering.

I'm sure Jerry would love nothing more than to move past talking about Micah completely at this point.
You must be important around here.....If posted this, id be called a boot licker, Jerry's Minion, Bob would have banned me for a month and Coogi would have asked me to share my thoughts!!

We all know you only have eyes for one man by the name of Jason Garrett

We are enduring ups and downs. It’s why we are Diehard fans. That doesn’t mean we can’t call out our issues and plead for change. We do that cause we want to get better.

He's not a hall of famer
Not yet , he has a long way to go but he’s on a pace with over 12 sacks his first 4 seasons which only Reggie White did. And with 1.5 sacks after 2 games is on pace for it again.

And if this trade has propelled him to a more championship caliber team then if he continues this pace he most certainly will be considered for the HOF.

Jethro is just trying to control the narrative cause he mismanaged this negotiation.

If his intent was to trade him should have placed out to highest bidder back before the draft and we would have received much more including additional picks to help this years team.

But he was hoping he could stave off Parsons demand to become highest paid defensive player. And just let him play out his final season and then possibly franchise tag him. He thought he had the leverage.

But what he under estimated was players like Micah ultimately have the leverage simply cause of their talent level. And once Micah saw Jethro didn’t apparently have the desire to meet his demands then he asked for the trade.

And once Jethro realized Micah was going to sit out was when he bailed out seeking a last minute trade. The fact we still received 2 1st and a starter punctuates the level of talent. No telling what we could have received when teams had more to offer like additional mid round picks and or players. And possibly to a team in AFC or not the immediate SB contender the Packers are.

Sure , the picks we received could turn out to help us. But those picks are going to be very late 1st rounds, almost like 2nd round picks . And the likelihood we draft someone at that slot as good as Parsons is slim.

Maybe by 2027 having an additional late round 1st will help bolster our roster but even 2 years out we have to develop . No reason to think that late 1st pick will be a day 1 impact . And that’s assuming we hit and not bust like we have on some in recent years.

And all of this doesn’t even take into account what losing Micah has on this years team and beyond.

We have zero pass rush.
Without stopping the run, wouldn't matter who we had rushing the passer. Saying we have no pass rush isn't accurate as well, we among the league leaders in pressures against the #1 OL in week 1, they just struggled finished against a tough, mobile QB.
