We all understand how poorly the defense has played this season, but they gave two nfc elite teams everything they can handle and should have won both games. This team has to learn what it takes to win a 60 minute game, where the margin between teams in this league is so close.

Team cannot lay an egg against a bad Bear team not need a 65 yard fg to beat another. Defense has to improve to give them a chance. Even if average, this could make this team successful.

Many are saying this is a rebuilding season, I don’t see it that way, nor has the team approached the season that way.

I don't think its a rebuilding year, but I think its a .500 year. I think this is a 7 to 9 win team. 2013 could be a good comp where we had a good all around offense but a very bad defense.

Defensively, I think the pass rush could improve over the season. You could wind up seeing the young start to come on the 2nd half of the season. I think that happpening or not could be the difference between 7 and 9 wins and possible 7th seed

I think 7-9 win team is very realistic. What we want to see is improvement as the season progresses, especially with some of these young prospects. We also need to determine if Eberflus and his scheme is the right fit for this team moving forward. You don't want to change DC's every year, but you also have to the right personnel that fits the scheme.

If they do move ahead with Eberflus, do they target more zone based, high IQ players? Do they move on from a few players that are a poor fit? I think right now, we have three major needs on defense-Edge, LB and Safety. Corner could be added to that list as well.

I agree their two best games were against the better competition and they lost that sucks but it does show signs of life the problem is all the injuries they're starting to catch up on offense now too I don't know what they're going to do but this is starting to turn into 2020 and 2024 I don't know if we keep our head above water till these players get back...

They need to fix the defense 100 percent There's no tweaking or slight adjustments it needs a complete overhaul and how are they going to get that done?

If I'm some of these players I'm starting to have some conversations behind closed doors about going rogue Who cares what the coach calls you know how they say a coach loses the locker room that's what they're talking about they needed to start running their own place I think they need to go out there no matter what is called by your defensive coordinator ignore it and in the huddle call your own damn defense and then blitz the living **** out of some of these quarterbacks..

Oh utilizing your secondary who was built to play man not zone especially not cover 3..

So the defense is completely broken I agree it's not a rebuilding year but the problem with all the injuries and the defensive corner I don't think it could be fixed...

I hope Revel lives up to the hype. Takes some pressure off the CB position with your top 2. I think Diggs is done amd gone after the season.

Im really hoping our edge guys are on the roster. However even at their ceiling, I dont know that either Kneeland or Ezeiruaku are alpha's. Probably more like Montez Sweat caliber guys.

Good year to need a LB. There are real studs in the top 30. Strong LB

I think Downs could be in play if he falls to our pick due to positional value. Hard to imagine him not being BPA

if this is a 7 and 9 team, then it may as well be a rebuilding year.

I liked what they said on LOC Yesterday. The offense and special teams are good. If the defense could move up from the bottom to about 20 that could be enough to make the playoffs.

Some possible areas of improvement
Overshown return

James and Ezeiruaku maturation

Clowney get's into game shape and adds some veteran leadership

Winfrey comes back and helps lower the snap count for Clark and Odighizuwa

One of the many injured DBs comes back and turns out to be an upgrade from what we have now.

The players become more comfortable with the new scheme.

We aren't the greatest show on turf. Without a defense, this team is going nowhere. Let's see where were at when the bye week hits. We've got several winnable games in the next 5.

@ Jets
@ Carolina
Washington
@ Denver
Arizona

We should win easily the next two weeks, and have a shot with Washington. Denver is looking tough at the moment. My prediction is we go 3-2 over the next 5, putting us at 4-4-1 at the bye.

My season prediction based on the first 4 weeks, and looking at the remaining schedule is: 8-8-1

I'd love to be wrong....

I will be interested to see what the offense looks like when Dak has to start forcing the ball to Cee Dee again instead of throwing to the open man. My guess, not as good.

If a team has a top 5 offense and top 5 ST, a few good players added on defense can make a run, but when the defense is this atrocious, it means another season at the very least

The secondary is trash. Add good players there and Eflus scheme will improve.

Have you seen our defense this year? There are no "gimme" games on the schedule. Our only win was not easy, and our supposed "we should win" game against Chicago was a disaster. I wouldn't count on any "winnable" games this season.

Those who are wishing for a rebuilding season are those who give up easily.

Quick note: The Green Bay Packers are on ESPN’s fraud alert team after the Cowboys game.

-I agree, Diggs won't be back next season.
-Revel's play will determine if they need to go get another high-end corner.
-Linebackers/Safeties are usually late 1st/early 2nd rd picks, where the GB pick should land
-Downs is the perfect fit for this scheme, but I am hearing top 5 early in the process. Maybe he could slide to the Cowboy pick due to positional value. Think he is similar to Branch.
-Agree, think Ez will be more of a #2 type edge, team needs an alpha. I would really consider Hendrickson in fa. Yes, will be expensive, but much cheaper then Parsons. He would allow the team to address other needs in the draft.
