If you were to offer George Pickens a contract how much would it be?

Same agent company as Micah, I doubt he wants to make less. And after seeing how these clowns build a roster there is no way he gives a discount.
And I agree on that. This is Picks first opportunity for a fat contract.

Rayne and Allen already had their 1st big contracts and/ or extensions so they could afford to take a TAD less if they wanted.

I have zero issue with Pick leaving for the highest bidder

Doesn't matter what I offer him. He will be a free agent and he will go to the highest bidder probably. Pickens has no loyalty to the Cowboys. The more he plays the more money he gets and right now I think he will be in the vacinity of $30 million. But whenever I guess at a player's worth, someone always give him more than I thought.

More than CD.....and he will get it somewhere.

No way could the Cowboys support two of the top five WR salaries in the NFL.

You really can't franchise him. You think he was a problem in Pittsburgh? Try franchising him.

I like to think if I'm a player I'd take less to go play with KC, compete for rings. But to go-to a team like Dallas, I'd want the most possible.

He damages his own ability to make money if he acts out on the tag. Then the narratives about him that he has worked to out behind him come back out. If he doesn’t show up he’ll get fined and leave $28M on the table. Tag and trade, that’s the play.

I just dont understand where people think he is going to be set to make more than Lamb. I could be wrong of course, but Lamb got paid coming off a 1700 yard season. Pickens to this point in his career has a career high of 1,190 and only topped 1000 yards once. Hes been fantastic for the Cowboys so far, but odds are his targets start to come down as Lamb comes back. Even Metcalf who is probably a solid comp for Pickens couldnt break into the top 3 and he also got about $40M less in guaranteed money than Lamb.

To me Metcalf is probably the top for a Pickens deal....I think Higgins money is more likely. I mean any team could have had him for cheap this offseason by beating the Cowboys offer and all 30 teams passed. Just a few months later we think someone is going to turn around and give him top 3 WR money? I just dont see it.

The actual best play here is to trade him to the highest bidder by the deadline and rack up more picks. Contenders will pay.

Jerry won't because he's old and knows he won't be around for those picks.
This is my take. Trade him for whatever we can get.

But instead we'll keep him for our "playoff run.". In addition, Jerry is desperate to get fleeced and trade one or more 1sts for a rental.

Hats off to George for giving us a spark our offense has been clearing missing. I love his toughness, and his physical abilities to be a game changer. With that said and his success on the field, what would you offer him if you could right now? What's his current value??

I don't think I'd insult him with anything below 30 million. (Yes we know he wants to negotiate after the season, SMART!) Let's have fun, I'm honestly not going to lock him up long term, maybe a 3 year deal, in that 3rd year there would be an out in his contract that if things aren't going well, he can be cut/traded with not much damage to our cap.

His current play, I'm thinking at least 31 million a season, your turn!
Forget about it. Unless they tag him he's gone at this pace. Keep in mind his agent will make sure any kind of "tag" is useless. He'll have injury after injury if they tag him. Hammy, w/e.

Can't pay two (2) #1's in this league. Get over it.

Is this the pro bowl?
Are we a balanced team?

Then no don't sign pickens.unless he takes 15 mil a year.

Or trade CD and keep pickens.
Spend some GD money on defense.

Lamb is getting $34M, so $31M probably gets it done but I'm on the fence whether or not to sign him to a long-term deal after this season. I'm inclined to tag him, see how he responds and maybe get it done in 2026 mid-season. Keep in mind, we have an out on Lamb deal at the end of 2027.

Nothing like showing appreciation for a player’s efforts by applying the franchise tag. Perfect. Great plan. It’s a very “Cowboys thing” to do.

Around 20. Yes, he'll get more than that. 30+? You know that D that keeps us losing? Pay Pickens 30 and that doesn't go away.
Yet people are suggesting he gets tagged. Just slap 30M against the cap. That cannot happen. He has to be a low cap hit from the onset, so there is money for other players.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Pickens wants more than CeeDee. David is not taking any discounts.

People talk about trading him now..

But if you don't get a 1 or 2 what is the point.

If we just get the 3rd back that we spent on him why would we bother?

Prob get a 3rd if he signs somewhere else anyway.

Can’t trade him until Mulugheta signs the tag. He can drag it out well past the draft. However, I’m sure he’ll do what’s best for his client, not what’s worst for Jerry Jones.

The 3rd from a trade would be the 2026 draft where a 3rd from comp would be 2027.

True..

Do you think someone would trade a 1st or 2nd?

I doubt it.. he has a couple of good games but most people knew he was a good WR before Dallas got him and that only took a 3rd.

I dunno.. I could be wrong.. a team could get desperate I guess.

You don’t let him walk period. At worst you tag him. How do we know lamb won’t get injured again? In the current nfl you need two top WR’s. Use the draft picks on defense. You want to watch a 30+ Dak with no WRs if Lamb gets hurt again? Lamb has an out on his contract just backload the deal and give him his money. He’s two years younger than CD.

Jerry is going to resign him. He can’t have people questioning the Dak contract when he’s playing at his 2023 level.
