If you were to offer George Pickens a contract how much would it be?

I just dont understand where people think he is going to be set to make more than Lamb. I could be wrong of course, but Lamb got paid coming off a 1700 yard season. Pickens to this point in his career has a career high of 1,190 and only topped 1000 yards once. Hes been fantastic for the Cowboys so far, but odds are his targets start to come down as Lamb comes back. Even Metcalf who is probably a solid comp for Pickens couldnt break into the top 3 and he also got about $40M less in guaranteed money than Lamb.

To me Metcalf is probably the top for a Pickens deal....I think Higgins money is more likely. I mean any team could have had him for cheap this offseason by beating the Cowboys offer and all 30 teams passed. Just a few months later we think someone is going to turn around and give him top 3 WR money? I just dont see it.

If he can hit 1500 and 17 then yeah I will lessen my stance for sure. I just don't see how he can realistically keep that pace up with Lamb coming back who is going to hog a ton of those targets, and hog a ton of those snaps from the slot that Pickens thrived in this past week. So far hes had 30, 68, and 68 yards on the games Lamb has played in. The 30 yarder can easily be chalked up to being his first game as a Cowboy, but I would assume the 5 catch 68 yard games are probably more the average for him going forward if I were to guess which would put him closer to the 1200 yard mark to end the season after an excellent start. Still very good, but when you factor in the efficiency metrics to adjust for the high passing volume of this offense I'm still seeing Tee Higgins type of value to a max of DK. Time will tell though

As much as I love Pickens, with Lamb coming back, I expect nowhere near the same looks as he has had.....I expect Dak to force throws 88's way, and revert back to where things were at previously. Let's hope not, but......or, if Lamb isn't 100% he can be used as somewhat of a decoy and still demand the coverage he gets

Dak seems really comfortable with Pickens.

Actually, when Lamb comes back he won't have to carry the receivers like has since Amari.

I think the targets will be even between the two.

CD averages 9 targets a game..We might assume from the current status of this team that Dak will be passing 35-40 times.

You figure 10 passes to CD, Same for Pickens, 6 passes for the backs, 7 passes for TE1, 2 more for the backups and 3 passes for WR3 and WR4.

That would be the 38 passes that Dak averages so far this season.

I don't think I'd insult him with anything below 30 million. (Yes we know he wants to negotiate after the season, SMART!) Let's have fun, I'm honestly not going to lock him up long term, maybe a 3 year deal, in that 3rd year there would be an out in his contract that if things aren't going well, he can be cut/traded with not much damage to our cap.

His current play, I'm thinking at least 31 million a season, your turn!
