Ask him directly why his recent comments on the trade do not coincide with what he said mid-September (link). This would help many people with individual assessments of Jones:

• A reporter can refresh Jones' memory by reminding him what he said on ESPN New York radio two months ago if he responded to a question about the trade by saying he does not remember. He can create some gray area by repeating an inability to remember. Either he would have truly forgotten and can then admit making a possible mistake; or he would be deflecting from what he knows he said before. BUT
• An automatic denial that he never said anything differently, especially if a reporter quoted his ESPN radio statement to his face, would be a pretty damning example of actual dementia. Any denial would be compounded if he repeatedly denied saying it before and did so angrily. That would be a sign of true senility.

I think Jerry is confused here. But if true thank goodness the Jets were dumber than Jerry for not taking that deal. They later took a 2027 first, and a 2026 2nd with Mazi to Williams. But they wouldn't take Parsons and a first for Williams earlier?

I think Jerry misspoke and they wanted to trade MP for Williams and a first not MP and a 1st for Williams.

He was essentially saying they would have ended up in the same spot but they also got Clark.
