Will McClay has been POOR the past 5 years. This team has zero depth and it is showing on the field.
This franchise has spent so much resources on OL / DL. And because of this, the secondary ( LB, CB and Safety) has really suffered.

His problem is he puts all resources into Dak and the offense. It’s his love. I’m not blaming anything on Dak but every year he tries to keep continuity with coaches Dak likes or the system and builds around it. The closest he’s done to that on D was the years with Quinn. But talent wise it’s piecemeal. He needs a coach the HC wants and they need guys that fit that system. Stop putting all your eggs into the O basket! Daks only hope at a SB is a top D and even that isn’t guaranteed

One of the problems with anybody who works for Jerry is that inevitably he gets his way. McClay isn't doing great for us because Jerry has worn him down and now he has become a yes man who is here because he'll give Jerry what he wants. Jerry did the same with Parcells, who started with complete control over the roster and then relented to Jerry like they all do.

Jerry hires people he can dominate, those with enough of a reputation to give him the illusion he knows football and has a serious football organization, but who will also shut up and do whatever bat**** thing he wants to do because he's certain it will show how smart he is at football.

Here's the problem: Jerry is a fan. Jerry is an incredible salesman. Jerry is a successful businessman. Then add that he played some college ball. All that translates into being a horrible owner. He thinks he knows football and when Jerry was in his prime, sure, he probably knew enough but he also surrounded himself with good people (Jimmy). However, you take all the above and then surround yourself with "Yes Men" and we have the team we have now and have had for quite some time. Now, the game has certainly passed him by. Stephen is incredibly il qualified to do anything but get daddy a cup of coffee and he's the heir apparent. Good times for Cowboy fans, right?
