Oh...he went and got a WR early on...then 3 months into the season got a couple cast off defense...and calls it "all in 24/7 bizness".

Whoa SteveTheCowboy, whoa!!! Didn't think it was railing on me and never would come back that way. Not my style. But my fault if I my post implies such. May not always agree, and that's fair.....all good. Maybe my intent to be objective about a recap of the team performances gets lost in responding to the easy and frequent "It's Dak's fault" compilations when I see too many other breakdowns all over the place, all over the field, wearing the same uniform. All good.

The next guy is gonna be Aikman." They had that fantasy pre-programmed for years, and when they learned that they weren't getting their next Aikman, their fantasy blew up in their face. They threw a hissy fit and built up anger towards the guy they think blocked them from obtaining a Mahomes caliber Quarterback. But fact is... Dak didn't block us from getting a Mahomes. The draft is a lottery ticket.... you get lucky you don't get lucky. For most of any team's franchise history.... you're not getting the best or one of the best QBs in the league. it's just fact. You just have to deal with that low likelihood. Also, i really don't care if we don't have the best QB in the league.

But with that said.... how far behind the best QB is he even? I think it's silly to put him out of the Top 10. Even Top 8 is probably low for him because who can honestly name many better names? You can name the clear exhibits, but after that is a matter of opinion. He easily can be argued as Top 5 or 6 if he has regularly appeared on Pro Bowl ballots for 2 out of the last 3 years. We're talking initial selections, not replacement selections. So hes not that far from being one of the best. But even if he isn't one of the best..... none of you date the hottest, or one of the hottest girls on the planet. Do you not love her all the same? I can love Dak even if he isn't the best.

You can crucify him for those 2 games against the Golden Gaters, but what about those other playoff games? Against Rodgers, it was a Quarterback dual - and those kinda games favors the guy who got the football last..... that was Rodgers. If anything, Garrett and his clock management and his electing to kick an early field goal not understanding that the game was not gonna be low scoring was more to blame than the Quarterback. Against the Rams, Dak was normal. No one's saying he was exceptional..... he was just normal. Normal is good enough against McVay at that time of the year, against one of his better teams. The defense was anything but normal. it was awful and gave up 300 yards rushing. Against the Packers, while Dak precipitated our demise with his picks.... the defense ultimately had the final say. They gave up an opening Touchdown drive, followed by a 95 yard Touchdown drive, and that would be right in the middle of 5 straight Touchdown drives surrendered to Jordan Love. It's a joke that a game can effectively be over after 3 failed offensive drives.....only the Cowboys can let such a thing happen...... the defense was definitely the much bigger issue that game. One of those first 3 failed drives was also a drop by Lamb on 3rd down.

So overall..... how many real opportunities has he had where he was given much of a normal chance non-obfuscated by the blunders of his defense or his coach? Just the 2 against the Golden Gaters. Against the Packers and Rams he had absolutely no chance with how awful the team played overall. And against Rodgers he had a chance but he just wasn't on the field when Rodgers hit that last sideline pass, nor was he on the field during the walk off field goal.

So in short .... he may never get us to the Super Bowl, or we even win one with him..... but i don't know about you guys.... I'm sure gonna well enjoy him trying.

The problem that I see...is if you criticize Dak in any way shape or form....you are only blaming just him. I've seen it FAR too often.

We all know Jerry sucks. The defense sucks. Rowdy SUCKS! :laugh:

"It's a team game"...sure. QBs get the brunt of the praise and shame. Dak does not own that....they all get it. We gotta chill out on it.

Yes..it;s true...it might not matter who the next QB is. But let's be real. What other team has kept their QB for 11 YEARS...with 2 playoff wins? The defense, the coaches, the owners....who cares about any of that.

Why does JUST DAK...get to stay because everything else sucks? Not the way it works. They get to go to another team, they get tossed to the curb...but Dak...HAS to stay HERE? Just because it's Dak?

Dear Yobwocs, I am preparing a festive party tray for you with which to celebrate the playoffs.
You know, to enjoy as you (and Dak in his home) watch the playoffs at home.
No alcoholic beverages as some use it to excess, even hallucinating we are in the playoffs, with Dak leading us to football excellence and padding his HOF stats.

I haven't placed the Packers play off defeat solely at Dak's doorstep. Of course the defense was trash and played a huge part in the defeat...but Dak ensured it was lost by half time. He gave them the ball in the redzone and a pick 6 to help put the Packers up 28-0 before HT. Had he been able to steady the ship and helped the team go in at half time say 21-14 or 21-10 then it's still game on. Dak then put up garbage time stats to massage his play off profile but make no mistake, he was dreadful.

Dak's poor play gave the Packers at least 10 points in the 1st half and in all likelihood 14 points. Had the Cowboys come in at HT trailing 17-14 or 17-10 or 14-14 or 14-10 then it stays within one score max and still very much game on. It was 28-7 and game over.
