Who are the last top 10 edge players to "dominate AND have "mass production" on the college level????
My question is ok, Bain did not.......who did from past drafts. I mean, since you are comparing him and his production to similar drafted players.

Mike Green led CFB in sacks but was drafted in the 20s.

David Bailey from this class is part of my list...feel like he checks the boxes that Bain is missing.

James Pearce last year had a 10+ sack / 10+ TFL college season with a strong win rate in the SEC and also having absurd athleticism.
 
McCoy is the only one that makes it to pick 12. And I’m not taking him there but wouldn’t 20 but prefer Delane at 20 if he’s still on the board. At 12 I’d go Styles.

You moved the goal post.......those are his NFL rookie stats. You were talking about mass production on the college level.


Here are his college stats....Pearce had 7 sacks his final season in college

Not just my opinion...Brugler is one of the best in the business and went on record saying he believes some teams will have him as a 2nd rounder and / or 3T.

If the measurements are accurate the history of the NFL also agrees with me.

Really like his game, but again, more as a bottom of the 1st type player than top of the 1st.

I doubt that he makes it out of the top 10 and I think he will be an outstanding player. To me using your eyes is more important than any measurement.
 
I watched Bain a lot and I would love to draft him at 12,he has really heavy hands and can disengage really well,you can't find a more perfect candidate for LDE.
 
Bain will be at the senior bowl to whoop some guys but the supposedly fully recovered Mccoy will not be there.

And then brugler has had him top 10 in every mock draft hes done lol

Had a hard time putting Downs over Bailey but I think he so much than just a Safety and would bring so much value to our defense. The asterisk on McCoy is he has to participate at the combine and look like the stud from 24.

Honorable mention are Delane (concerned about size and speed) and Styles (slides due to positional value and dont see much drop off to Hill if you want to target both at 20).

It is a short list but I want one of the best defenders in the class at 12 and I think we will have a good chance at 1 of these players being there. The rest of the players being talked about at 12 have too many warts / concerns for me.

This is what separates the great GMs and scouting departments. The great ones have the ability to determine if those warts can be corrected by his elite Head Coach.

I realize that we've been told that there is only a handful of players that graded out to a 1st round pick. However, I also know that evry team's GM strives for every slight advantage they can gain.

In other words, the NFL personnel executives that actually know something about evaluating NFL talent aren't talking to the media or to their fellow GMs.

Eyes is one box to check of many.

Bain passes the eye check box, but does not check several if the others.

If we only used the eye ball test I would have about 50 1st rounders including guys like Pond and Rodriguez.

Also even if Brugler has him high on his board that does not change what he reported.

Correct. The draft analysts are asking the NFL people for their opinion and what their peers are hearing which is what Brugler shared. That is my point.

I am not saying NFL teams care what the media says.

Bain reminds me of a better Osa. That funky build he has worries me. My eyes tell me he is a great college football pass rusher but I don’t know how that translates against a NFL left or right tackle. I am with you on Bain, I hope someone else selects him before he gets to us at 12. I am in the minority I know but I think Mesidor is a better pass rusher then Bain.

Barring measurements and testing, if Mesidoor was 21 with no injury history I would probably lean towards him as well.
