Big Board for Pick 12

Barring measurements and testing, if Mesidoor was 21 with no injury history I would probably lean towards him as well.
Mesidoor is an interesting prospect, yes he is 24 and has some issues with his feet, but he isn't undersized like many of these other pass rushers-280 lbs. I think we may see some in that 230-240 range at the position.

We need a pass rusher so I am not worried about undersized as long as the length is there like it was with Deze.

Apparently Howell has 30ish inch arms as well so he wont be in the 1st for me either unless proven otherwise.

First and foremost, we need to acquire the best pure pass rusher as possible. Perfect world you would like to have your edges big enough to be able to hold up against the run, where some of these undersized players become more rush specialists.

Agree. I think with our DT room and how good DEze was against the the run we can afford a smaller rusher I just an not a fan of what is available as 1st round options after Bailey.

I would love for Bain and Howell to clock in with 32/33 inch arms so everything I am saying will become irrelevant lol.

I do like the fact Bain is going to the senior bowl to compete. Think he is going to be long gone by 12. Looks like all the top edges will be there except for Howell.

So you think Bailey will be availble at 12 and Bain will not?

I would bet a significant amount of money Bailey will be the one not available at 12.
No - should of clarified, all the top edges will be at the senior bowl. Think Bailey goes to Tennessee at 4. Don't think Bain gets by Washington, especially if Bailey is off the board.

I understand the concerns with Bain, but what John Owning says on the first line of the report above is the same blinking light I see. He's just got overwhelming power to go along with athleticism. His traits far outweigh his measurables for me and I couldn't care less about what previous measurables have succeeded in the NFL. Those things are always rewritten. It's a weak QB class and not much better at OT. I'll not be surprised to see Reese, Bailey, Bain, and possibly even Faulk off the board before Dallas makes their first pick. It's early, but I'd guess it'll be down to Downs, Styles, or McCoy with the Cowboys on the clock.

we may need to come to grips with drafting older players early, more and more players are staying in College longer and are only declaring when they know they will be drafted high.

You understand what mocks are right? Hes projecting where a player will go. And in every single one of his mock drafts the said player is in the top 10 every time, despite shorter arms.

All those measurements will come at the combine. We have had some of these same discussions about offensive lineman on this board in year's past. Slater from the Chargers was one of them and he has proven he can play the tackle position, where many saw him as a Guard only due to his lack of length.

Most detailed reports on Bain and Mesidore I have seen

I'm with you, believe Bain knows how to overcome his lack of length at the position. Cnuball makes a good point about not many overcoming that trait on the next level, but I think he maybe one of them. Love is power and motor!

I do!

Most analysts project based off if what they are hearing around the league and what teams like what players. It only takes 1 team to fall in love and some teams suck at drafting so it would not surprise me at all if Bain goes top 10.

Correct.

But again Slater was a minor outlier and Bain is like end of the spectrum outlier.

Owning is awesome but he is notorious for completely dismissing length.

I think some posters (not you) are acting like I think Bain is a scrub which is certainly not the case.

I am a fan...just in the 20s not around the top 10.

Melvin Ingram had short arms and he dropped in the draft although he was successful in the NFL,lets see how short Bains arms are in the senior bowl.

Oh I agree Cnuball make an interesting point but to say he's a late first round pick it's ridiculous I'm sorry.
there's an exception to every rule and that's what I see in Bian. As I have said many times like John Madden used to say sometimes you have players who may not be the tallest or the fastest but their players you can count on. This guy is done it at a high level against some of the highest competition.

It's easy to like a top 10 player in the 20's.
