Darnold > Prescott

Because they finally put him in a decent O. Same w/ Daniel Jones.

His OC was Jeremy Bates from the Shanny coaching tree. Which means long developing routes which means your QB has to sit in the pocket way too long which means he's going to get killed. Same thing happening to poor Sam Purdy as we speak.

Now, look what happens when they put him in a better type O. He's throwing lazers at the snap' and not taking those horrific 7 step drops.
Not sure why this is ignored or misunderstood.

Jim Kelly had HOF coach, receiver and running back and still couldn't win a Superbowl in 4 tries.

Trent Dilfer had NO great receivers, a good runningback and won a Superbowl on his first try.

Josh Allen is supposed to be elite and can't even get to the Superbowl. Colin Kaepernick was non elite and led his team to the Superbowl. Crazy huh.....
Jim Kelly faced some of the greatest coaches and players OF ALL TIME! Gibbs, Parcells, Johnson...

You know what...just stop. This is all in service to prop up The Choker. "What about..." is the refuge of someone desperate for an excuse.

I don't know what or who "The Choker" is that you speak of but im talking about Superbowl winning quarterbacks.

Is Kelly The Choker that you are speaking of? Because you've done an admirable job of propping him up with plenty of excuses as to why he hasn't won a Superbowl.

Kelly didn't CHOKE. He actually played well in MULTIPLE PLAYOFF GAMES FOR 4 YEARS IN A ROW. He defied expectations and won playoff games on the road. He met expectations by winning at home.

You know EXACTLY who THE CHOKER is...you're only fooling yourself. We all know that you know....

Again...don't compare Dak to those he looks up to. Living legends. Dak is just alive....

We have different ways of evaluating a QB.
Trent and Colin were carried by teams.
Allen and Lamar carry their teams. Trevor is getting better and good he just got beat by another good QB. But that was a competitive game unlike if Dak were playing it would be a bad loss blame would go on the defense.
Justin falls into choker category like Dak. Can’t compete on the big stage. They have great players on offense to help them and are surrounded by first round talent and still struggle.
We watch Darnold and Stafford turn the playoff game into a shootout against pretty good defenses. That’s because they have pedigree. You put Dak on the Seahawks and the game is a blowout loss to the Rams. They would struggle to put up 20 points. Dak cannot make some of those difficult throws and doesn’t move like Darnold ESPECIALLY when pressured like Darnold or Stafford.
I was impressed with the number of times Darnold stayed in the pocket and just got the ball out with excellent throws. 4-5 times he would have taken a big hit with a good chance of fumbling the ball had he waited another split second. His pocket awareness was sensational.

In fact, if you watch Stafford - who I think is a great QB when he's on - he didn't do that. He kept stuttering his feet. As mentioned, he was playing against a great secondary...but you got Puka and Davante. NO EXCUSES. You are probably the league MVP. NO EXCUSES.

Except for Dak...Dak needs 3 all pro WRs and 2000 Ravens defense to see his true potential.

Where is the evidence and reasoning to justify thinking the Cowboys will reach a Superbowl with Dak Prescott at quarterback being paid $231 million guaranteed over 4 years?

The best decision the front office could make is to simply eat the contract hit next season. Don't restructure and be lumbered with it beyond the next couple of years.

I think it's a little harsh on Stafford saying he had no excuses because the quality in the secondaries were chalk and cheese.

However, I do agree that Stafford being was it 0/7 on third and fourth down? No excuses for that. Disappointing.

Darnold was 7/13 on third down? Very impressive.

See.... this is the classic post filled with the highest levels of hypocrisy and goalpost moving. I REALLY appreciate you for being an example of what I've been speaking about for the longest time.

Let's break it down....

You started out saying Dilfer and Kaepernick was "carried by their teams, then later bragged on Matthew Stafford as if he wasn't CARRIED by the Rams Superbowl team the year they won the Superbowl despite Stafford leading the league in interceptions.

I will definitely give credit to Stafford THIS season for balling out, but I will not let you forget that Stafford is the same quarterback who has a career record of like 20-75 or something like that vs winning teams.

Then... you said Trevor is getting better and good, "just got beat by a better quarterback". Around here THATS A BS EXCUSE!!! When the Cowboys lost to teams with a better quarterback, shootout or not, Dak got blamed and raked over the coals for the loss whether it was his fault or not.

Lets take another look at what you've just said.... you gave an excuse for a 1st round drafted quarterback losing to a better quarterback..... but place more blame on a 4th round quarterback in the same situation losing to a better quarterback. This is the CLASSIC case of hypocrisy at its finest.

You also mentioned something about "if that were Dak it would be a bad loss and the blame would go on the defense". Well let me remind you of something my friend. There Cowboys had the last ranked defense this season. There isn't a quarterback in the NFL INCLUDING Patrick Mahomes that would have gotten the Cowboys through the playoffs. I guess having the worst defense in the league is an excuse too, huh..... i know.

To wrap this up, I respect the hell out of Darnold for what he's doing this season. Yes... Darnold is having a better season THIS year than Dak, no question. But Darnold hasn't had a better career than Dak and we can compare year to year production if you like.

Yes.... Darnold will be playing in the Superbowl this year because of his play AND because of his TEAM'S play. It takes TEAMS to make it to and win Superbowls, not just a quarterback. The greatest quarterback in the league named Patrick Mahomes didn't make it to the playoffs for a reason and it wasn't because of him.

Its still a TEAM sport.

And again.... I never brought up Dak, YOU did. I kept the topic on Superbowl winning quarterbacks. Kelly isn't one of them. Dak definitely isn't one of them, so I don't understand why you chose to bring his name into the topic.

I also mentioned quarterbacks who made it to the Superbowl. Dak isn't one of them. Once again I don't understand why you chose to bring his name into the topic.

I mentioned Trent Dilfer, Colin Kaepernick, Brad Johnson, Nick Foles, etc..... THESE are quarterbacks who have made it to and/or won Superbowls. Stop bringing Dak's name into these topics. As of now, his name doesn't qualify to be mentioned with these guys.

Stop bringing up Kelly's name into it when im mentioning quarterbacks who've actually WON the Superbowl. Kelly had 4 tries at winning a Superbowl and didn't get it done, period.

Umm, do you see the defense Seattle has dude?
The Rams scored 27 on them.

When the Cowboys defense gives up in the high 20's all we hear about is, "What do you expect the QB to do, score on every drive? You can't win games when your defense gives up almost 30 points"

Apparently somebody forgot to Tell Sam Darnold you can't win a game when your defense gives up almost 30 points.

Sam Darnold is playing great but I wonder where this version of Sam Darnold was when he played for all those other teams throughout his career.

I wonder why he didn't lead all those other teams to the Superbowl. What was it about the Seahawks that was different from all those other teams?

And the Rams had the ball on the 6 yard line so there were 3 more points if required. The Seahawks defense basically gave up 30 points. Darnold and the Seahawks were able to win by putting up 31 points.

Different type of O.

While I think Dak is still the better quarterback it is entirely to early to tell as Darnold's spent the vast majority of his career on 2nd and 3rd rate teams. The Jets are well the Jets and Carolina during his time was just another sad excuse of a football team where careers went to die.
Seems like something has clicked the last two years. Did great with the Vikings and turned them around for a year then took an average / above average Seattle team to 14-3. He played great against the Rams

Coaching & schemes matter.

Dak has been surrounded by a heavy invested offense surrounded by lots of talent for the majority of his career vs Darnold's poverty teams until this year

Seattle built a super bowl caliber defense through the years while having lots of talent on the offense. They just needed a quarterback to plug and play in that scheme.

But in the end....Dak is not a game changer and neither is Darnold up to this point but we shall see this upcoming week.

At the end of the day, the offense has the advantage - both inside the game and as regards the rules. You as an offense know where you want to go - and as Troy and Michael proved - there's NOTHING you can do (legally) to stop a QB/WR that are on the same page. So if Stafford didn't have his guys, I understand. But he's got 2 GREAT WRs...at that point...it's advantage Stafford or "even" at best. No excuses.

Brady beat Mahomes on the road and converted 3 straight 3rd and 10s to Edellman...you got Puka AND Davante.

The job of the offense is to score enough for plausible deniability...not to outscore the opponent, right?

I mean c'mon!!!
