Darnold > Prescott

I was impressed with the number of times Darnold stayed in the pocket and just got the ball out with excellent throws. 4-5 times he would have taken a big hit with a good chance of fumbling the ball had he waited another split second. His pocket awareness was sensational.
Agreed. I was equally impressed with the number of times he accepted defeat and took the sack or threw the ball away instead of trying to play the hero. That was something he wasn't doing before the loss to the Rams. Zero turnovers was the key to the Seahawks win imo.

Well, Sam Darnold led the Seattle Seahawks to their franchise 5th NFC Conference finals. Will be his first, which makes him a better QB than Dak Prescott.

Sure, all the stats will be thrown out saying Prescott is but stats are for players contracts.
Fans --which Dallas fans are starving for-- ONLY care about ONE thing....WINS.

Then Dallas fans will say Prescott has more wins that Darnold then I say, the ONLY stats fellow starving Cowboys
care about is (FIRST) getting to a NFC Conference finals, which Prescott, nor Romo, has ever accomplished.

Then Dallas fans could/might say, Seattle has a better team around Darnold.
Then again, I say it is about WINS and if the Seahawks have a better team, which now Demarcus Lawrence plays
for and a ProBowler, then that blame directly on the grocery shopper. He buys the groceries and hired the coaches.

Like Demarcus Ware, Mr. Lawrence and future ( or current) Dallas players must get out of Dallas if they want to even play in a NFC Conference game because Jerry's Pride will never allow this franchise to see another conference finals.
It is a business first and the players knows

So I hope Mr. Lawrence gets a chance to play in a Supwerbowl, maybe win it and down the line, sign his one day contract as a Dallas Cowboy as Mr. Ware did.
He led Minn to 14 wins last year too

And again.... I never brought up Dak, YOU did. I kept the topic on Superbowl winning quarterbacks. Kelly isn't one of them. Dak definitely isn't one of them, so I don't understand why you chose to bring his name into the topic.

I also mentioned quarterbacks who made it to the Superbowl. Dak isn't one of them. Once again I don't understand why you chose to bring his name into the topic.

I mentioned Trent Dilfer, Colin Kaepernick, Brad Johnson, Nick Foles, etc..... THESE are quarterbacks who have made it to and/or won Superbowls. Stop bringing Dak's name into these topics. As of now, his name doesn't qualify to be mentioned with these guys.

Stop bringing up Kelly's name into it when im mentioning quarterbacks who've actually WON the Superbowl. Kelly had 4 tries at winning a Superbowl and didn't get it done, period.
This is all in service to prop up Dak. You don't have to "bring him up"...it's obvious this the reason for you lowering the bar and using all-time greats who BARELY missed the mark as a measure for Dak ....WHO DOESN'T EVEN GET CLOSE. Even the "scrubs" you try to compare him to are BETTER.

Trent Dilfer was better than Dak. He's got a ring and played composed in the playoffs. He was also a #1 overall pick. You can clown him and say "everyone knows" but FACTS > FEELINGS.

Colin Kaepernick was a more highly touted QB, beat out real competition to take the job away and then BARELY lost a SB. Again, don't put Dak in this conversation. The ONLY WAY you can do this is TO MAKE UP STUFF THAT YOU BELIEVE DAK WOULD DO...not an actual accomplishment. FACTS >>> FEELINGS.

Brad Johnson - better than Dak. Better overall decision maker. Played in a different era of football - not as pass-happy - but still performed when it mattered. Got a ring. Dak can't get out of the divisional round without wetting himself. FACTS > FEELINGS.

Nick Foles - Tom Brady threw for 500 yards and lost to him. Nick Foles had one of the greatest postseason runs in NFL history. Dak...not so much. Statue to Foles outside their stadium...Dak is a statue on Sundays. Advantage to THE WINNER who WON.

If it's a random Sunday and we are playing the Giants, give me Dak. If it's a meaningful game in January, ANY OF THE ABOVE QBS ARE BETTER THAN DAK.

Darnold is just more likely to catch fire and win a SB thN Dak...because Dak is a stats hoo-er and garbage time fiend. He's never going to be horrible, but he'll never lead a team to a Championship either.

Darnold might completely suck every other year, but he isn't a stats hoo-er. He goes for it. He rips it and is far more a "go hig or go home" guy. Dak is more of a "Go Medium and then definitely go Home" kind of guy.

Dak knows what is important to him....and he's played his whole career in a way to ensure he's achieved his top priority....and he's gotten it (100M of Jerry's money, and some dumb commercials)

You bring up a very good point: When did Darnold get sustained, patient investment like Dak? NEVER.
While I think Dak is still the better quarterback it is entirely to early to tell as Darnold's spent the vast majority of his career on 2nd and 3rd rate teams. The Jets are well the Jets and Carolina during his time was just another sad excuse of a football team where careers went to die.
Seems like something has clicked the last two years. Did great with the Vikings and turned them around for a year then took an average / above average Seattle team to 14-3. He played great against the Rams

Coaching & schemes matter.

Dak has been surrounded by a heavy invested offense surrounded by lots of talent for the majority of his career vs Darnold's poverty teams until this year

Seattle built a super bowl caliber defense through the years while having lots of talent on the offense. They just needed a quarterback to plug and play in that scheme.

But in the end....Dak is not a game changer and neither is Darnold up to this point but we shall see this upcoming week.

They are both relevant in this discussion because you hate your own culture so your opinion is irrelevant on this matter. If I want your opinion on Baker Mayfield and Daniel Jones I’d ask because I know who you are.
I hate on "my culture" because I demand excellence? You just don't get it, do you?

You are the problem. You think so little of your own that you want to soften and lower the standard ...to prove what? Prove what "they" say right if you lower the bar.

Let me let you touchy-feely-activist types onto something: The STANDARD is excellence. That's just meeting expectations if you truly believe in your guy. Dak is not excellent outside the NFC East...in fact...he's a confirmed, reliable LOSER. If this is your champion, he doesn't represent ME or my "culture"...

...he represents the lower-standard dreams for YOU.

Wasn't Minny's defense top 5 last year and Seattle's defense is #1 this year. Quite the coincidence aint it. Nothing against Darnold.. but dude had been a turnover machine until these last two playoff games. He has something like 35 over the past two seasons. His defense picked him up a lot. Which is what it's supposed to do. They made it so his turnovers didn't bury them. Unfortunately for most of the last 5-6 years, the Cowboys offense has not had that luxury. If they committed a turnover no matter where it happened on the field it was instant for the other team. Own 5 yard line or opponent's 5 yard line made no difference. The defense has not been interested in stopping anybody after a turnover. Which is frankly a bit depressing.. because we are asking our offense to be perfect.. which no offense has never been and no offense will never be.

Dilfer played on a team that had all time best defense giving up less than 13
4 poinrs a game. That team won 4 games scoring 2 TDs. Give me thar defense and i win 8 games at my old age.

And based on your facts > feelings then all of the above are better than Marino.

I am not defending Dak but your logic is flawed. You are full of emotion and feelings while pointing to everyone else about their feelings. Ironic

Who you have in the SB? Pats or Seattle, just curious. I think Seattle will win, how about you?

See.... this is the classic post filled with the highest levels of hypocrisy and goalpost moving. I REALLY appreciate you for being an example of what I've been speaking about for the longest time.

Let's break it down....

You started out saying Dilfer and Kaepernick was "carried by their teams, then later bragged on Matthew Stafford as if he wasn't CARRIED by the Rams Superbowl team the year they won the Superbowl despite Stafford leading the league in interceptions.

I will definitely give credit to Stafford THIS season for balling out, but I will not let you forget that Stafford is the same quarterback who has a career record of like 20-75 or something like that vs winning teams.

Then... you said Trevor is getting better and good, "just got beat by a better quarterback". Around here THATS A BS EXCUSE!!! When the Cowboys lost to teams with a better quarterback, shootout or not, Dak got blamed and raked over the coals for the loss whether it was his fault or not.

Lets take another look at what you've just said.... you gave an excuse for a 1st round drafted quarterback losing to a better quarterback..... but place more blame on a 4th round quarterback in the same situation losing to a better quarterback. This is the CLASSIC case of hypocrisy at its finest.

You also mentioned something about "if that were Dak it would be a bad loss and the blame would go on the defense". Well let me remind you of something my friend. There Cowboys had the last ranked defense this season. There isn't a quarterback in the NFL INCLUDING Patrick Mahomes that would have gotten the Cowboys through the playoffs. I guess having the worst defense in the league is an excuse too, huh..... i know.

To wrap this up, I respect the hell out of Darnold for what he's doing this season. Yes... Darnold is having a better season THIS year than Dak, no question. But Darnold hasn't had a better career than Dak and we can compare year to year production if you like.

Yes.... Darnold will be playing in the Superbowl this year because of his play AND because of his TEAM'S play. It takes TEAMS to make it to and win Superbowls, not just a quarterback. The greatest quarterback in the league named Patrick Mahomes didn't make it to the playoffs for a reason and it wasn't because of him.

It’s still a TEAM sport.
You keep repeating there isn’t a QB that would have gotten Dallas to the SB this year! Like that’s some excuse for Dak. We’re talking body of work with Dak! Not just this year!
When I talk about Lawrence and Darnold and Stafford and Allen. These guys all compete when they get to the playoffs. Dak turns into trash when he gets there. Yes we know it’s a team game but the majority of QBs playing in the playoffs are first round talent and they are a great asset to thier team winning. Unlike Dak who turns into a liability once the Cowboys get to the playoffs.
It’s one thing to lose to another good player but it’s a whole different story when you go into choke mode and don’t compete for 3/4 of a game and don’t help your team by playing field position and possessing the ball.

He fully deserves blame when he goes into choke mode and doesn’t show up for 3/4 of the game. The defense is out there struggling just like the Rams and Seattle defense were both struggling.
Had Darnold or Stafford pulled a Dak the game wouldn’t have been close. But those were two competitive QBs going at it and performing well. Win or lose they both fought hard.
