And there goes that silly theory that you don't need a good RB

Several of Walker's big gains came on plays where the Patriots front blew up his hole, and he was just able to bounce the run. Definitely not something any RB could do, you need to have Walker's kind of high-octane athleticism.
His running style is wild. So patient waiting on hole to develop then shooting thru

I know a lot of guys don't like PFF - I've had some questions about their grades - but they had Walker as their highest-graded RB in the league this season. He's not just a JAG who had a big night.

I guess the easiest counter to this would be Saquon Barkley last year.

Remember?
Over 2,000 yard regular season.
Super Bowl was 25 carries for fifty something yards.
Nope, he was not a decoy. He did not keep the defense honest. He was totally shut down.
Period.

Pretty big contrasts when comparing the 2.

this really goes against my thinking, because Im of the belief not to use a high draft pick on a RB. But for what it's worth the top 10 RBs in rushing yards this year were drafted in these rounds.

While the Chiefs were successfully stopping Barkley they got killed by Jalen Hurts. Embarrassing.

Good call, and that was my not so hidden agenda point.

But I didn't wanna totally hijack the thread into more useless Sleep Number family members foolishly crowing for him again.

LOL, there were gaping holes in the Pats D line....while Walker was good I think most NFL RBs could have been successful last night. And just because one SB was won with a dominant run game doesn't mean it's the only way. That is part of Dallas' problem.....chasing the new fad year after year. Build systems where players can fit in and perform on a consistent basis.

Bijan
Saquon
Javonte
Bucky Irving

Kyren Williams

Oh sure, there are better backs. No argument there. I mean Javonte. Javonte was a pleasant surprise for sure. But he's no Kenneth Walker...not anymore.
