Which franchise tag for Pickens? Exclusive vs non-exclusive

[Archer] Cowboys fined George Pickens multiple times last season

This is how the Cowboys negotiate contracts in the press. Get ready for another Micah situation.
This doesn't concern me at all.........the fact Lamb and Dak are standing on the table for his return tells me everything I need to know. Hell, Lamb is even offered to adjust his contract if needed. You didn't see that with Parsons...

I stand by what I have said........Pickens will sign a long-term deal before March 3.

The Cowboys don’t need another #1 WR; they need a revamp of the defense and some OL depth, so save some money and let Pickens walk.
If not, use the Non-Exclusive tag on him. Allow Pickens to test the market to find his value to give Dallas the opportunity to match the offfer if it makes financial sense; if not, decline to match the offer and take the draft picks. Should there be a lack of interest in the free-agent receiver, then that just gives Dallas leverage in the contract negotiations.

I agree with Werder. Another team could put some kind of poison pill in the contract that the Cowboys couldn't or wouldn't want to match.

Considering the history with big contracts, the Cowboys should just franchise tag Pickens. It will be a big enough challenge to get it done and signed by the season opener.
No one is putting any poison pill in because no one is giving up two 1st's for Pickens

So why are you eager to trade George Pickens then?
Im not, never said I was. Id like to extend him.

That doesn't mean I dont believe we couldn't improve the team with TWO more firsts and the cap savings.
