If they really wanted to, they have both upgrades to the defense and Pickens. Its not one or the other. Its really not a choice. Its whether they are actually open to spending

They can free up over 100m. They already freed up 60m. If you want to keep thinking they need to move on from Pickens to improve the defense, then there is no help for you. Ill just leave you with your thoughts

It sounds to me like you are trying to convince yourself we getting something for Pickens. We arent. He is either going to play here on the tag or sign a long term deal

Oh I am not saying they HAVE to move on to improve the defense. What I am suggesting is using Pickens to really infuse that D with some real talent and go WR in 2027 when the draft is full of absolute studs who wont decide they dont want to play when things are going bad.

Jerry will either over pay or he will be traded.

Why wait a year when its quite easy for them to have both now if they wanted to. If you to actually win something now, keeping Pickens and spending money on the defense is the best way forward. Trading an All Pro for lottery tickets that you dont even know will work out isnt it
