Not a fan of Jerry, and I’ve said that plenty of times. Whether he actually said what’s claimed depends on what you believe—I don’t know, so I won’t dispute it. Someone can probably provide a link to back it up, but I honestly don’t care; it’s in the past, and I’m focused on what’s needed to improve the team. That said, the idea that Parsons and his agent would have taken less is nonsense. Where’s the proof they didn’t bring a lower number? And why would timing matter if it was just an informal discussion in February last year? Parsons publicly said he didn’t need over $40 million or to be the highest-paid non-quarterback, but then the price went up, and things turned into a circus on both sides. He was never signing for $34 million—he never once said he’d take less if asked earlier. People act like they know every behind-the-scenes detail, but they don’t. What we do know is Parsons said things publicly and then walked them back, Jerry took offense, and while negotiations could have found middle ground, egos got in the way. When Jerry finally tried to talk to the agent, the agent basically shut it down, saying the offer wasn’t close. However it was said, we’ll never know exactly, but there was clearly a big ego clash between them.

Where's the proof? anybody that was in his tier coming up her contract like Myles Garret took 34 million, who signed early for that kind of money, I'm trying to figure it out. You know if somebody would have signed early for that kind of price that would have set the market lower would it not have then we could have got Parsons for lower money but where are those guys that I'm looking for a base that we could say well there you go you could have got him for less?

I mean, the same thing happened with Lamb he came out and said it his agents and him said we were not going to sign until we saw either Chase or Jefferson set the market they wanted to know where the number was they were not going to sign early lots of players are doing this now they're smart enough they're representatives of smart enough if they're in that kind of tier where their top five players and they know it they are not taking less..

Two things here:

1) A lot of the facts your stating are accurate, but you're also only looking at the pro cowboys facts....Its very possible that Parsons would have signed early which he stated publicly that he wanted, but its also pretty well known that Jerry didn't speak with the agent either. Gotta look at both perspectives here (Jerry & Parsons). Some players like this way of doing business, others don't...Dez is a perfect example of someone who has spoken out against Jerry's owner to player negotiation tactics. Both sides of this argument are at fault for not getting a deal done....Jerry in the early going, Parsons with some of his antics during camp.

2) We see players sign early all the time... Aiden Hutchinson signed a year early at current market value this past year....a lot of these big QB deals are coming from guys signing early (Burrow/Lawrence/Herbert etc). A lot of players are willing to sign early as long as they are getting the market rate. Teams are typically willing to do this, especially with 1st round picks as they can get a 4 year extension + the final year of a rookie deal + the 5th year option year all under one agreement that basically makes it a cheaper deal when spread across 6 years. This is what fans have been frustrated over for years about Jerry. Some players want to wait, not discrediting that, but teams are getting other mega deals done early all the time. Per Jerry he didn't even talk to the agent early and wanted to go straight through the player. Plus at $136m guaranteed over 4 years Micah isnt even the top paid edge on average. We talk up the AAV all the time, but thats mostly for the headlines. Parsons deal is actually extremely team friendly when compared to his actual AAV.

Yes. Plenty of WR in FA that can be a stop gap until 2027. Have you seen the talent coming out? Without the baggage.

You dont build a championship team with 2 100 million dollar WRs when you just had the worst defense in franchise history.

Yep which has been a criticism of Jerry by me for a while. One of the benefits of being the cowboys should be the ability to spend cash whenever is needed. Instead Jerry tends to be fairly strict about keeping extensions pretty spread out, which hurts your cap situation but is better for the P&L sheet each year.

Yes lots of it is out There's a now making sure they put causes of narrative no trade cause no franchise tag prescott got all that, Also want that part removed without losing all your guarantee money or having your contact voided and get in trouble off the field detrimental the team and there's a lot of things in contracts now that are being debated.. All can make it hit a snag but asking too much overall money overriding yourself is big is not simple it's not just about money Can't pay everyone with a blank check..

I think fans we think that it's just give them whatever they want you can blow the app up it doesn't matter but when you already have guy at that position like Lamb are making 34 million which technically it's 39 it is that's included it will come do someday you do not just pay against anything...

One motivating thing about franchising Pickens is if he mopes and groins during the season and has a subpar season, he could kiss 30+ mil a year goodbye from any team.

1 good year is not worth 30 mil. I'm cool if we resign him and feel we should franchise and trade. We still have a #1 and that's the main thing.

I bet Josh Allen would take CeeDee over all his WRs and find/create a #2 WR
