Oh I am not saying they HAVE to move on to improve the defense. What I am suggesting is using Pickens to really infuse that D with some real talent and go WR in 2027 when the draft is full of absolute studs who wont decide they dont want to play when things are going bad.

That would require Jerry to think like a GM.

We all know how contracts work. The money is always the most important by a mile and the SB and the guaranteed money ARE part of the money. No. one is assuming they will give him a deal with zero guaranteed money or 100% guaranteed. Portraying anything as more important then the money is just wrong

Maybe he was tired of waiting. Maybe he was not invited to the Star. So he figure since everyone will be at the combine he would like to start negotiations then.

Nothing has come out saying Dallas wanted to start negotiations and he said no, not until the combine.

Especially when you consider the WR. I already explained I don’t trust him. That’s a personal take but it’s mine. I think we can replace him in 27 draft easily if you look at the talent coming out at the position then. Without the worry of him having character issues.

I really don’t think you can replace a top-three player just like that in a draft that’s going to take place in two years. Frankly, we have a top-ranked offense. We can fix the defense without affecting the offense. Why is that so hard to understand?

i agree if there is not an impact player that is going to change your defense you have to trade down pick up the extra picks and not reach. The question is what type of player Parker would deem as his Impact Player. You would have to know what type of Defense he was going to run correct? If he running a Penny 8 0r 5 wide Mansoor would be a Impact player but so would Jamel Dean If you moved down Harold Rankins Sonny styles are perfect could sign Nakobe Dean So does leave several options If he runs that type of Defense Any thoughts

There are many impact players we could get with our first-round picks.

I would let Parker select them and not rely on Stephen Jones and his band of drafting misfits to decide.
