If we got a 1st and a 3rd for Pickens

Would the offense be better or worse if we used the 1st from Pickens to draft a top Left Tackle and a 3rd on the best available WR?

Then we could still use our other 2 first on defense.
Why would you do this?

Do you look things up or just have hot opinions? AJ and Devonte combined for a 25M cap hit in 2025 when they won the super bowl. If you want to look a contract value, AJ and Devonte' had the 11th and 17th ranked contract values at WR. Thats not even close to what Dallas is looking at if they resign Pickens to a longer deal. Dallas already has the 3rd highest paid WR and Pickens isn't looking for less. So, try your math again.
Are we talking skill level or contract? B/c both eagles WRs are good but b/c the Eagles FO signed Smith early they saved money (Jerry didn't do with CeeDee). So don't hurt the offense b/c you refused to do want made sense a couple of years ago when you should have signed CeeDee early. Sign Pickens now before the price goes up and draft well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got 2 1st round picks, draft some dawgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go find me a Leon Lett or Larry Allen, or Eric Wright!

Prime free agency is over. All 32 teams are preparing for the draft and signing players to fill out the 90 players they can bring to camp. The balance of free agency now are players other teams have moved on from. When camp cuts begin there will be more guys to sign, but again it will be players teams have decided to move on from.

These are depth players. If they were the kinds of players that “move the needle” they would not be available. Prime free agency is, in fact, over. We can stop saying “the off-season just started”.:
The offseason started just under 2 weeks ago and you are right, it goes all the way after training camp until the preseason starts to be mostly specific.

The players most likely to make an impact are either signed or not drafted yet.
Yes, that's right. But fill in's and depth exist even on the Superbowl teams. You get those all throughout the offseason.

You also get younger players developing/training then taking another step in the offseason and then training camp.

When did we acquire George Pickens? After the draft?

QW, During the seaon? I'm not saying it's ideal, but this is what happen's.

The Rams and Eagles haven't done this?

They've won recently.

Everyone chill abit.

It's what's out there, why, when, how much, is it worth it?

All throughout the season and that's why everyone watches.

The more I think about this the better it sounds, but are we talking a Top 10-15 pick(?) because if not, that changes things quite a bit.

Just for fun, let's say it would be around #10-15. Even if you don't think any of your favorite prospects are there, you could use the capital to trade up... That's a fun scenario to play with. What would it cost to move into the Top 5 and what capital would that leave you with?

We'd have a pick somewhere between 10-15, one at #12, 20 and 92 in the Top 100 to start with. Man... I love GP as a weapon, but this way you'd offload $28 million in cap space and really open up your draft. Very interesting.

You'd also have another 3rd, so...
10-15, 12, 20, 75-80 & 92. You could even use that upper-mid 3rd and a 5th to potentially climb up into the 2nd. Two picks in the Top 15 and four overall picks in the Top 50 sounds awesome.

WOW, It's damn near 4am... I gotta stop. Haha!

If we got a #1 and a #3 for Pickens, I would trade out of the #1 and start loading up for a quarterback in the first round 2027.

We're long past due

I wouldn't exactly call Kenny Clark average. Williams is a stud. Clark's PFF was 68 for 2025. Not stellar but more than solid...he's a little less in the run vs. the pass rush. But we still don't know what he can be with a proper off-season in a different scheme.
68 is average according to PFF and he’ll likely decline this year.

Dak is due to count $76m against the cap in 2027 and $86m in 2028.

there is no way the Cowboys use a high round pick on a WB until 2029.

We could get out after 2027 for a $76m dead cap hit but there’s no way Jerry would do that

Pickens no, Lamb IMMEDIATELY
Exactly! Don’t know why this is not mentioned more. Pickens is a better WR than Lamb. Stronger hands, high points the ball, stronger player who plays with a physical presence.
Lamb is good but the edge goes to Pickens in my book. I would be looking to trade Lamb.

His pass rush grade is still above average...even with a transition year. Maybe he will be better with a full off-season in Parker's 3-4.
  • Overall PFF Grade (2025): 67.6 (ranked 37th out of 134 interior defenders in some reports).
  • Pass Rush Grade (2025): 72.4 (ranked 21st at the position). 44 total pressures.
  • Run Defense Grade (2025): 53.7 (ranked 72nd at the position).

Let the competition begin.

Trade a known commodity for two unknowns. Then, have a eighty three year old, senile man with a thirty year record of failures make the picks. This is why Dallas is stuck in Groundhog Day. And it is why the Dallas fan base is the dullest needle in grandma's knitting bag.

I would trade Pickens for a 1st and 3rd yesterday. And I would be interested in one of the 1st round guys and a few guys later like Burks.

Well there are between 28 and 35 million reasons to make that trade. And possibly 100 million plus reasons over a 3-5 year span.

A 1st and a 3rd for Pickins is an offer you take and run before the opposing GM wakes up from his drug addled haze.
