If we got a 1st and a 3rd for Pickens

Pickens can be a great player, but he can also be a guy who shuts down in big moments. I would pass on Pickens and use the money saved, and possible draft picks, on improving our overall team.

I would sit Steele. Make him the backup swing tackle. There are a couple proven Free Agent tackles that would be an upgrade. Possibly, put Guyton at RT and the new Free Agent at LT. This would be a huge upgrade in pass blocking. I might take a receiver in the draft in the 3rd( if we have one) or 4th round OR find a 3rd receiver in Free Agency.

I would try to sign Bobby Wagner for a reasonable deal in Free Agency and focus on Defense in the draft. I would settle for the best middle Linebacker behind Stiles with our 22 pick, and get the safety from Washington( Thieman? ) with our 12th pick.

Unfortunately if, when, and where Pickens is traded is up to him. Not Jerry.
 
While the presence of Pickens opens things up for Dallas’ other playmakers; the need for both starters and depth players to rebuild the defense outweighs Pickens’ contributions on offense. If Dallas could get adequate compensation he should be allowed to sign with another team.

He is “allowed” to get a deal with another team right now. The caveat is that team would have to work out a trade for him with the Cowboys. Mulugheta will let Jerry know if and when a team has offered a deal he finds acceptable.

And then Pickens will sign the tag contingent on a trade being agreed to. Otherwise, he stays a Cowboys player.

i do. osa is the inhouse guy i'm talking about. they've clearly place a full on emphasis on the interior. and they're new DC is championing the run first and foremost. it's clear as day. all good though.

But his SB performance sucked and he was an absolute non factor.

But I think your point was his overall season's impact to the team making it to the SB.
So as to getting there again, yes.

Might want to make them picks for next year,,,this years draft is supposed to be weakest in a long time,,,, of course,,, since we have extra draft picks
 
Don’t understand everyone we get a great player and everyone wants draft picks which hit on only 60 % of the time!

Great player not under contract. Great player that wants to be paid a lot of money. Great player represented by an agent that makes Jerry uncomfortable. Great player who cannot be traded until he first gets what he wants. Great player whose approach to the coming season is questionable because the team won’t sign him to a long term deal. Great player who can skip mandatory team activities and all of training camp without penalty. Great player who can sign his franchise take the day before the first game of the season and be paid over $1.5 million per week for the next 18 weeks, guaranteed, regardless of performance, effort, and temperament.

Perhaps a couple of draft picks look a little better to you now.

Trade Pickens for a rookie OT and a rookie WR?

Who would a rookie OT replace and why do we think he would be better than the veterans we have for the 2026 season.

Granted, Guyton struggles but would a rookie OT struggle less? Do we want to use a rookie to cover Dak's blind side?

Could a rookie WR replace 30% of last season's receiving yardage.

Jerry Jones is not building for the future, he is building for six months from now.
