In year 2, what do you need to see from our Head Coach?

It was good to see our HC bring in some guys that he didn't know anything about, some worked out, most didn't. We saw our HC bench his starting WRs a series due their issues that were detremintal to the team. We saw him make some questionable decisions during games. He's never been a head coach, but now he has a year under his belt.

So in your eyes what things did he do well, what areas does he need to improve in?? Please give your thoughts

Based on NFL history, especially in the modern age, coaches who take a team to a Super Bowl do so within the first five years, so I believe in giving a coach that long unless he does not show improvement. That improvement to me needs to include making the playoffs this year.

Now, I don't believe failure to make the playoffs is all on the coach since I believe the front office is to blame the most for our failures over the last 30 years. But I also believe that a coach has to show the ability to overcome this front office and if he doesn't show that ability then we might as well move on to the next one and give him that chance.

Not sure how Jerry feels but in my mind he needs to get us to the play offs or this might be his final year (unless see below). I also would like to see try and manage the jones boys better, so far this off season he appears to be doing better than some of our past coaches at that, we will see how the draft and the season go before we grade him on that though, get to the play offs is job number 1 at least IMO. There is a chance that if we win 10+ plus games with no glaring coaching errors and overall team improvement but barely miss the playoffs, Jerry might keep him around.

I have a pretty good source that told me he rubs a lot of coaches on his staff the wrong way and he's not the nice guy that everybody thinks he is. Take that for what it's worth.
The players seem to like him. In any event I can't say I care if my coach is a "nice guy." In fact if he wasnt upset with his defensive coaches theres a problem. Past that Id hope hes straight forward and fair, because he does need buy in.

You need to Continue a general upward course for the team. This should be a measurable through the record overasll, in the NFCE, and the NFC. Defense should improve measurable through overall rankings against the rest of the League. These are generals and can apply to any coach in the league (not necessarily the NFCE and NFC things but substitute conference and division). These are improvements.

Specifically on Shotty's shoulders is the defense, special teams, and penalties ... especially dumbarse type penalties (like pre-snap lapses) not playing hard penalties.

Show me a team on the way up. This can include the eye test !

Both Flores and Minter bottled up our offense at the end of the season in must win games in the 2nd half. Can Schotty coach with the big boys with the game or season on the line.

I don’t need o see anything. Coaches are coaches. They are all good. They all know the game. If I call the perfect play on 3rd and 12 and get a we WIDE OPEN and the qb simply makes a crappy throw and we have to punt….. is that coaching? Players win, not coaches , at this level. How did Seattle do with Geno at qb?

If they don't make the playoffs...the whole damn staff needs to go....Blow this thing up and start over. I keep looking @ this roster.....the salary cap......and honestly....I'm a complete mess.

And when I say staff...that Includes Stephen and Wil McClay. The track record speaks for itself.

How many more draft busts do we need to see....that this administration is poorly put together....Poorly run....Bad evaluations. Bad @ putting a coaching staff together. I have my doubts about this coaching staff...and the direction this is heading. The 3-4 defense is dead. Has been for years.....Got a bad feeling this new kid defensive coordinator is about to find out the hard way.

Only thing I expect is for him to tone down all the "Bro! " activities (paintball, etc) and focus on football. I can't be the only one who doesn't give a damn if all the players become besties with their HC off the field. If they can't get their crap together on the field then heads need to roll.

The problem is Jerry, though. When the leader of the franchise puts out the vibe that results on the field don't matter, it tends to trickle down to everyone under him.

Best way to get Risen to disappear? Reset 'likes' to zero and remove the function from the site. He would most likely have an aneurism.

No more than the QB. Schnotty's problem is inexperience. The QB, on the other hand - you either grow into a big game QB as you mature and gain experience or you don't. Dak never become that QB, and at this point of his career it isn't going to happen.

I see Brian doing exactly what Jerry wants him to do. I think the HC position is interchangeable. The end result is always with Jerry's involvement.

I have zero expectations from Brian. He's just happy to be there.
I dont get the shotty hate - from a game management POV he did a pretty good job last year - there were many fewer moments of frustration vs with MM. As a head coach I wasn't upset with him at all last year, if they had a better defense and coordinator we might all have been talking about how he made the playoffs in his first year.

Disparaging him at this point or acting like he shouldnt be there is dumb, he won the job (like it or not) and he did pretty well last year as a 1st year hc.

Now to answer the question - I expect him to add more accountability to the team - there is still the lingering penalty issue which should start to work out as they swap out players that dont fit...thats the biggest thing I am looking for
