I think they are going to want a second-round value. Now, that may be a third and a later pick, but I think he's going to cost more than some on here do. They point out his age (going on 29 in October) while some were praising the team for getting a player like Jalen Thompson (turns 28 in July) in his prime. They point out that he's on the last year of his contract, but his one-year cost is just over $8 million, which is cheap for a first-team All-Pro.

Keep in mind that Miami is 2nd to last in cap space and owe 179 million in dead money for 2026.

That has to be a record.

Tua, Hill, and Waddle account for 115 million alone.

Another four are owed at least 10 million.

Agree, and their GM is saying exactly what I would say to the media if I wanted to trade him. We want Brooks as a pillar of our team moving forward,

We love cheap, so I could see us letting him play out his contract at $8 million plus. $6.5 million of his base already is guaranteed, so we can't entice him to sign an extension by just guaranteeing part of his base.

Exactly we do these deals and if these players do good we will end up losing them as opposed to having them for more years

I think they would want a higher 2027 pick. I think they are going to try and stock up future picks for a total rebuild.

If the Cowboys are interested they could probably reduce the draft value required by extending his contract as part of the deal. That would save the Dolphins some money and they are all about that right now.

But...that isn't Dallas.

You're probably right but you have to take into consideration that he only has one year left on his contract. Not many teams are going to want to give up much unless they can work out a long term deal with him, if he is willing.
