Apparently both Hendrickson and Crosby thought they were being paired in Baltimore.

It would have been hard to get either one given the circumstances. Who'd you play for if you were them? Cowboys or Ravens?

As far as I know the cowboys were in talks with both and could have solidified either if they wanted to. The Ravens didn't really engage Henderson un til after things fell throgh with Crosby.

Would you give a long-term deal if there’s only a small two-year window? They have his rights, so why overpay him? Just keep him on the franchise tag for two years and then either blow it up or maybe trade CeeDee Lamb after 2027 and sign Pickens to a long-term deal. Why don’t the experts say what George Pickens and his agents are demanding without telling the Cowboys they’re doing it wrong? You’re siding with Pickens without even knowing the details, and I haven’t seen a single offer for him from any team, no draft picks, no compensation. To me, that says he’s probably asking for too much, or another team would have made an offer for the Cowboys to at least consider, even if it wasn’t for a first-round pick.

All this Pickens talk is exhausting, there’s so much of it, and nothing has changed in months. We haven’t heard his side at all, so what exactly are his demands? If a team is in win-now mode and already has his rights this year, why pay him more? If he’s asking for too much, it wouldn’t be smart for the GM to overpay on a long-term deal. Stephen’s comments yesterday were likely aimed at getting David back to the table to have realistic discussions, not demands like JSN, Puka, or top-tier receiver contracts. They’re not offering market-setting money, so if he’s in the wrong place for that, the tag could speed up a trade. But if he wants to be paid and isn’t willing to compromise, even for a new team, he’s not going anywhere.

They haven’t even come out and said where they stand on these dates, but we’re supposed to be ready. You say the win is in having George Pickens on your franchise team, it’s the smartest move.

This is business in football; you try to get both if you can. If you can keep George for one more year and then let him go, how is that not a win-now move? This year you’re either all in or you’re not winning. You can’t think about next year if you’re in that small window, it has to be right now.

So why waste assets on George if you already have his rights for less?

I get that it’s more complicated, but I don’t see why we should debate without all the facts.

You’re saying this is Jerry being Jerry and that they’re handling it wrong, while I’m saying Dave is just doing his thing and we don’t know what’s really going on behind the scenes or what the actual demands are.

The guy isn’t worth what JSN just got, especially since no team has ever paid two wide receivers top five money at the same time. In fact, I can’t think of any team that’s had two players at the same position making market value simultaneously, it’s just not a smart way to build a roster. That’s an embarrassment of riches most teams can’t afford if they’re trying to stay cost-efficient. Look at how New England and Seattle won their Super Bowl, they had only one primary receiver and built a deeper, well-rounded team.

Which Ravens team are we talking about here, the one that looked like a Super Bowl contender, then took a major dive after McDonald left, with Harbaugh now gone and a loss of talent instead of gains? Are we comparing them to the Cowboys right now? Or are we talking about the Ravens from five years ago, when everyone was excited about getting Derrick Henry, even though he wanted to be a Cowboy? The year before Henry arrived, they went to the AFC Championship Game, but after he joined, they performed worse each following season. McDonald and other key players and coaches have moved on, and now you’ve got the regular-season MVP who can’t seem to deliver in the playoffs.

Both teams feel pretty similar if you look at their last few years.

More importantly, I don’t think Crosby or Hendrickson would have been happy with the Cowboys. They didn’t have much of a choice. From what I see, Hendrickson did not have Many teams knocking down his door for his service, he was on the market for a long tim,while Crosby was rejected, and now he says he’s bringing him back with the Raiders.

For most of these players, it’s all about the money. The teams trying to lure them are focused on compensation, not necessarily the team they might end up with. I’m pretty sure both of these players would have been happy with the Cowboys.

The only free agent who chose the Raiders over the Cowboys that we lost did so for reasons unrelated to competitio,it was all about Dean wanting to face the Eagles twice a year without being in the NFC East. That’s understandable. The offers were there, but he rejected the Cowboys’ offer not because he thought the Raiders were Better, are you serious?


Trust me, if the Cowboys wanted Hendrickson, they would have gone after him. They didn’t, they weren’t interested. I don’t think he was a fit for this defense, and as much as they wanted Crosby, they would have passed on him like the ravens did, back with the Raiders because of his injury issues.

So, I don’t see the point in this argument. He would have done just fine anywhere he landed, and that’s a fact. They might have just been happy if the Cowboys were the ones who came out ahead in those transactions.

Cowboys are not losing out on talent because it's the Cowboys, Somehow, they don't want to come here, that's not the mayor you try to create...

He's actually a really good player Problem is he's got into history and there's no way I would pick him where we're picking in first round now trade backs trades around or the extra capital you get if you do trade your pick and maybe you get a receiver for sure.. I'd be more interested in Tate or someone else, Not because Tyson sucks, he has injury history ,Some people were joking as Mile Austin hamstrings and some other things.. So the hours are trying to stay Are you from guys like that in this draft and should also with this guy..

No, it wouldn’t have happened if the Cowboys had gone after Hendrickson while he was sitting on the free agent list for so long as pass rusher after pass rusher was taken. He would’ve been happy to be a Cowboy. Kelly made offers because we weren’t interested—why come to that conclusion? I don’t think the Cowboys saw him as a great fit for this defense. If that’s what they were thinking, they could’ve just gone back and gotten him later.

As for Crosby, he had no choice,

the Raiders told him where he was going. These delusional takes are flawed. The Raiders would’ve traded Crosby to the Cowboys without hesitation. The Ravens outbid the Cowboys, then had buyer’s remorse and let him go back. Now, they’re not trading him unless someone overpays. In that case, I’m glad the Cowboys didn’t get him. Saying it would’ve been hard to land these two guys is absolutely 100% wrong.


I’ve heard Crosby say in the past that he wouldn’t have minded playing for the Cowboys, even listing them as one of his preferred teams at last year’s mid-season trade deadline. The reality is, not just my perspective, that he passed on the Cowboys, though either side likely would have been open to talks. I don’t think Hendrix would have ever turned down the Cowboys if he’d been picked up early, especially since he was available for so long. Why wouldn’t he want to join them? He was the last top pass rusher taken in free agency, making him more of a bridesmaid than a bride, and he would have been happy to be a Cowboy.

I am sure they had players come in late, had players that were trouble. As all teams do. It is just not national news like it is with Dallas.
And where are these stories Pickens did this in Dallas. No one has ever put a link out there that I seen. All fan and media hearsay.

The time he was late, along with CeeDee they both did not start that game.
 
A week after the draft, Pickens will be signed to a 3 year contract.
Stephen is an idiot, but what he said may be a smoke screen.

Vrabel runs a tight ship just like Bellicheat. I don’t know if they have players being tardy but the nick on Pickens is he does it and it’s gonna continue. They won’t be interested.

Maybe it was talked about in Pittsburgh, but only fans talk about it in Dallas, and a few stupid mediots.

My assessment is that he would not be an adequate replacement for Pickens.

He’s a #3 type WR. There is no shame in calling him that.
