Paying pickens is a win now move.. they have shown they are not really in win now mode. They could have had Crosby or Henderson and signed a veteran MLB if they were actually serious. We all might have different ideas of who we would sign but going all in on a 2 year window means actually signing above average players.

That’s not what I said. I said I’m perfectly fine with Fluornoy. I’m perfectly fine with drafting a receiver in the 3rd as well. Whether he’s the 2 or 3 I don’t know or care. If it makes you feel better you can call the rookie we draft in the 3rd or 4th the “2”. All I’m saying is I have other options to get a receiver in here than a 1st. Our defense is a damn mess I don’t know why people don’t understand that.

The RB that holds the Cowboys record for most rushing yardage in a season wasn't one of their storied Hall of Famers. DeMarco Murray was run out of town by a lowball offer that only improved too late once Jerry saw how other teams jumped on the opportunity.

Micah Parsons was everything we had hoped for in a pass rusher. He was phenomenal. Again, Jerry tried to be cute and got burned by an agent that wasn't all talk.

Those are the guys that you don't negotiate with. They are the reason a salary cap exists. These are the guys you pay. In every case but one, these are the guys that prevent GMs from losing their jobs.

Telling the world that you would not negotiate with a player that just proved he was worth it a short time ago is absolutely disrespectful. This is especially true when the decision-maker has never earned a single thing in his lifetime.

Who is Stephen Jones? Why is he talking? Where do we need to go in order to become acquainted with all of his amazing achievements as an NFL executive?

Other than being the first wiggly to make it to the egg and fertilize it he has done nothing. From that day forward it has been downhill.

Wow, what a thoughtful post. And, although it may be criticized by some for being too anti-FO, it was an amazing read nonetheless. No matter which side of the Pickens debate you are on, any reasonable person will admit what Stephen Jones did was inappropriate and not the way to handle a professional negotiation. Not the way to handle a player who produced much of the 2025 offense.
 
I hope they just trade him for whatever they can get. Let him go play someplace that wants him and we can jsut draft a receiver.

I have no interest in a repeat of the stupidity that happened last year. It threw a shadow over the entire season.

WR sells tickets which is the only thing dumb and dumber care about. This team needs to go 90 percent defense in this draft. We've had good WR's before and we still can't win anything of importance. Jerry talks a good game until it's time to put the money where his mouth is.
 
For any of it to make sense, we need a FO that will decide if we’re in win-now mode or rebuilding.

Because thus far the moves they make indicate they’re doing both and neither at the same time.

Poor strategy thus far.
 
I don’t trust our fo to wheel and deal and nail the landing in a Short window . What ? Trade Pickens for a 3rd and then use 12 on Tyson at the exact same time? All while still moving up for downs ?

Flournoy performed as an above average WR2 when Lamb was out. It's on tape, it's in the stat sheets, and the data reflects that he's in the top 30 in efficiency for all WR.

He'd be an average 2 worst case.

No one is saying he's Pickens, but your assessment is inaccurate at best.
