2025-26 NBA Season

Pretty sure that they also played earlier in the year when Wemby and Castle were out. Wolves did have all their players though which they don't now. People who aren't watching the Spurs dont' realize how many times we lost key players to injuries in the season and still were on OKC's tail the entire season.
Since you brought it up, do you have the stats on how many games the Spurs missed players due to injury versus how other team teams in the league fared with injuries?

No, but I do know both Wemby and Castle were out for one of those losses. Speaking of injuries, if Jalen Williams doesn't get back soon for OKC, chances of beating the Spurs continue to drop.

OKC was more affected by injuries this year. They had more games missed by starters, more minutes missed, and more “wins missed”. It’s a testament to OKC’s incredible depth that they were without key players for huge chunks of the season, and they still had the #1 record in the league. The Spurs were actually decently fortunate with injuries this year.

The Mavericks hired an exec who was the main man when Toronto won the championship in 2019 . Maybe he can turn this boat around it’s by far the worst team in DFW even with Flagg .

Man ....... that is upsetting.

My Spurs got smoked tonight.
They didn’t get smoked.
Wemby is beyond amazing. But he needs some real help around him. Not these guys who only decide to show up every other game.

Really fun game though. I fully expected that last 3-pointer to go in. It will be a dog fight series.

Another year without a title for LeBron . I don’t see this OKC series going too far . It would seem a NY trying to take down OKC championship would be a ratings win for the league .

Agreed. OKC won by 18, and yet they looked very rusty and made a lot of mistakes while doing it. OKC has only played 4 games in the past 23 days, so the rust will continue to come off.

Wow that’s a lot of time off this time of the year .

Nah. Spurs played rusty as hell. Same as OKC. You can't win like that with Timberwolves though, much better team than Lakers, especially with Edwards in, and Luka out.

Probably the worst I've seen them play in a while. Blame Coach Mitch. Didn't have them ready for this, and why was he trying to make Wemby a 3-point menace so early? Dude couldn't sink a 3 to save his life. And he should have called a timeout on that last play. You could tell they didn't know what to do. Harper is still a rookie. Coach Mitch learned his lesson, Pop would have detected quickly what going on, and stopped it. Still would have loved to see a late game 3-point save by Champagne who was on fire and single-handedly kept it close to the final minute with his hustle.

Passes were going all over the place. Guys just throwing the ball away. Some of our backups like Kornet playing like absolute trash. Castle couldn't shake the refs and the fouls which took him out. And not just Wemby, seems like no one could catch a break on baskets, while Wolves were getting them all over the place.

I expect the Spurs to win tonight. But please get rid of those god awful fiesta color uniforms. Not a 'white out,' it's a 'fiesta out' in the stands! Ugh. Those unis only remind me of the choker Spurs when David Robinson never could get us over the Hakeem Olajuwon hump. And still frustrated that we always end up with the late-late games but I will definitely be watching Game 2 tonight.

Spurs recovered from the rustiness as expected. You attack with Wemby in the paint, let the All-Star guard rotation of Fox, Castle, Harper do their thing along with the depth, and Spurs are almost unstoppable. Defense is a given, the numbers don't lie. Teams have their lowest FG% when Wemby is guarding the paint. Just have to do the same on offense.

Timberwolves going to regret getting Edwards out there early if his injury gets worse. Wolves can't win this series.

Looks to me like the Knicks will rep the East. Not surprised though, they were the only East team that gave the Spurs any trouble this year.

Cool Youtube video on Jordan's take on Wemby. I never realized that Wemby's blood clot was same issue Yao Ming and Bill Walton had. Phew! Dodged a close one!

Sunday is the ping pong NBA draft with Dallas having no worse then the 8th pick but to really help Flagg and the franchise they need to land in one of the top two snatch 6’9 “ Cameron Boozer up perhaps .

I want nothing to do with Boozed if we get a top 4 pick. If we get 8 then I can be ok with him.
