Well two important parts of that run were Lively and Kyrie.

People don’t remember now but when they traded Luka they were 26-23. The regression already happened.

I think that had more to do with the tension between the GM and their star player.

Don't get me wrong , Kon is a good player, but you put him on this years Mavs he would have had huge issues. Kon was just a piece for the Hornets.
Also, ROTY award isn't based off which rookie team made it the playoffs. Victor Wembanyama Spurs team didn't make it to the playoffs during his rookie season.

I’m speaking for me personally if I have two guys who are playing on the same level yes on a playoff team would’ve pushed it over to Kon. Naw Kon didn’t keep his level of play up but if he did yeah he would’ve been it for me.

You can also say if Kon was on the Mavs his stats would be better. He had to fight for usage from guys like Ball, Bridgss and Miller. Then it got even worse when they traded for Coby White. Goes both ways.

I agree but his play started falling off before the play in. It coincides with them trading for a Coby White.

Keep in mind one more thing when it comes to Kon Vs Cooper. Kon as 1 extra year on Cooper and that can make a huge difference.

I’m not arguing who’s better. They are not the same caliber. When Hornets were struggling specifically Ball and Miller it was Kon that got them into contention. When they got better or healthy he went back to what I expected him to be.
