John Harbaugh was asked how the Giants can keep pace with NFC East

I dunno. I don’t think he is so great. He had nearly the best and most consistent FO in the league for about ever.

He isn’t coming in with some elaborate schemes that the league can’t figure out. Sure, he is well respected and will have instant and unquestioned command of the locker room, but in the end he will only be as good as the players they can put on the field.

I mean, he is no Shoddy if that’s what anyone is asking. Plus Shoddy has Caleb. Harbaugh does not.
But I was just trying to tell him it looked like when Mike Mcdonald and some of those other coordinators left the Ravens they dropped off and Mike Mcdonald goes and wins a Super Bowl with Sam Darnold and yet with both Derek Henry Lamar Jackson somehow the Ravens couldn't figure out a way to get over the top And what I see is not a very strong AFCI mean yes there were some good teams but it wasn't like they were being one dominant team over there like New England was holding people back with Tom Brady it was very winnable and he couldn't get over the top..

Saying he's not gonna be any good who knows maybe he does take the Giants to a Super Bowl this year but I don't like looking ahead and acting like he's got a name so we should worry about his name I don't worry about names even from players who switch teams because they don't always live up to the free agent hype...

Show me how many rings Schotty has as a HC?
How many appearances in a Conf Champ Game as HC?
so comparing him to a proven HC with skins on the wall is BS

Harbaugh is over rated. He had some great GM's in Baltimore to give him some very good to great players.
Lamar Jackson was over rated as well.

Not saying he will suck in NY. He will eventually make them competitive. But how long will it take.
Certainly has skins on the wall; Schotty does not
and we are handicapped by the Jones Boys
you like to forget that

I think the division will be more competitive than many people think. Not to say it will be back to NFC Beast, but I don't see it as being NFC Least.

More like NFC Middle-East

Not saying he will suck in NY. He will eventually make them competitive. But how long will it take. And how good will they truly be.
For sure. I'd be excited if I were an NY fan though. A lot of young talent. A SB Winning and well respected coach.

We'll see how it all plays out though.

Didn’t say he wasn’t any good, I just don’t see him being all that special. Fine leader of men, but he is only going to be as good as the horses they give him. I don’t believe he is someone to get the most out of marginal players like a Parcells did. I don’t believe he has innovative offensive schemes like many current names.

In Baltimore he about wore out his welcome. It was just time to move on for both. Yes, the Ravens are a fine example of why success can’t be measured in terms of SB wins only. Very consistent and solid franchise that has all of one trophy,

I found it interesting that the Ravens owner heard of Mike Tomlins resignation during the parting PC. Those two had some battles over the years.

Edit…..also understand that I’m local to NY and have to constantly hear about how Harbaugh is Vince Lombardi. It begins to wear thin.

I'm only 38, so I don't remember the commanders ever being good, really
Same boat. My hey day is the Campo years lol. It’s troubling lol. The best I can do is the Rgknee and Alfred Morris rookie season is the last time I remember.

34-7 Dallas game 1
Welcome to the NFCE John
lol this reminded me of how deflating for Giants fandom to get trounced 40-0 opening night.

There was so much optimism on their side before that.

I did not forget that. But I am going by what is on the field. The FO's already done their jobs. Now it is up to the coaching staff and the players.

Yeah it feels like they're good years are largely a result of down years for everyone else in the NFCE.

Ah the Campo years. I remember proudly wearing my jersey to school on the Mondays after beating the lowly Cardinals.

Reporter: "So Coach Harbaugh, how do you think you will keep pace with the Dallas Cowboys?"

Harbaugh: "They're still ran by Jerry Jones, the same guy who is the puppet master for their 2nd year rookie head coach and who pulls all the strings and decides who plays and who doesn't, right? We'll be fine".
If you hate Jerry so much, stop watching his team play games.

Otherwise, he brought the organization 3 trophies.

You Jerry bashers need to find a new hobby if you’re so emotionally involved in disliking a person you’ve never met.
