2025-26 NBA Season

Keep in mind that some people thought this way with that powerhouse Boston team from the 2023-2024 squad.
I thought about that but aren’t they still a powerhouse. They played half the year without their best player and still made the playoffs and I believe the 2nd seed.

The only thing is Jaylen being traded. That can change things.

Power houses dont lose a 3-1 lead in the 1st round to a 7th seed. And Im a Boston fan

Yeah that’s why I said barring injury. Tatum going down threw them off but I still don’t think they were as deep as OKC or overall as good at the top as SA is now.

Too young at the bottom. They had a 19 and a 21 year old in the playoff rotation

IMO, they had a good chance to be in the Finals or ECF if Tatum doesn’t get hurt. If that happens that’s 3 straight years of winning a ring or making it to the conference finals. That’s a powerhouse to me.

Boston was down 2-1 and losing by 10 with three minutes left when Tatum tore his ACL

I'm not saying that game was over, or even coming back from 3-1 would be impossible

But they weren't beating NY last year

That’s fair. I didn’t realize the lead was that big. I still think they win this year if Tatum doesn’t get hurt.

that's not unreasonable... I think the adjustments the Knicks made in the ATL series, to run the offense through KAT more, makes them a tough out. We'll see if they can win 4 more, but I think they're heads and shoulders better than anyone in the East

Knicks are the Cowboys to me. They’ll probably win and I’d wonder why I didn’t see it coming lol….they are on a hell of a run.

It’s honestly not hard at all to look good in the east. Just about every team in that conference are posers and are pretty much crap compared to several of the west teams.

But we will see… Surprising things happen all the time.

Never until a small market team starts winning do I remember so much scrutiny nitpicking nba officiating. Wow. No one said a word when Jordan was taking 4-5 steps to dunk, shoving off, and parading to the FT line. No one went after Rodman for all his grabbing, flopping, and fouling….no instead “he was a great defensive player!” No one ever did segments on whether LeBron was even a great player or not because he flopped a lot. Never heard one person denigrate Joker for the offensive fouls or Luka for his theatrics. No one bashes Giannis for all the FTs he shoots “well he’s aggressive and attacks the rim”. Never heard media people calling for rule changes to specifically target one team and after every game networks showing a montage scrutinizing every call then making the narrative about the officiating. Unreal hypocrites.

Exactly. And there’s a difference between “flopping”, and selling a call. SGA is an expert at “selling calls”.

This is all just jealousy on part of other teams. OKC just embraces the hate and keeps on kicking everyone’s butts.

Yeah everyone flops. So I don’t get why Thunder are getting hate for it. Anything to belittle a champion. Spurs aren’t losing because of officiating that’s for sure.

And he’s also very aggressive getting to the rim, in the paint, slashing, and has the ball in his hands most of the time. I don’t see him getting more calls than other stars necessarily, especially the ones who attack the rim. All of a sudden it’s an issue.
Flopping is an issue across the league and has been for a long time. The league even tried to address it but attention waned on it and here we are. If it were the Lakers or Knicks no one would be talking about it again now.
Then there’s the matter of an inherently flawed game heavily subjective and dependent upon fallible (and sometimes possibly even tainted) human officiating. People only care about game integrity if their team isn’t winning, or in the league’s case, they are missing out on making even more money. Last I checked, NE Patriots got to keep all their trophies.
