Who Will Be Our Leader on Defense?

Who do we have on this current roster with the talent and personality to motivate these players on the field when things get tough.

At this point I got nothing nobody's even been a cowboy very long to have established any type of presence.

I think it's important to have a leader on the field just not sure who's going to step up and do it.

In time it will be Downs but leadership is earned and that doesn’t come overnight

I believe the young Downs is going to be an exciting TEAM LEADER!

I hope so but it's going to take time to evolve and this team has to hit the ground running.

This defense has to shake the reputation of being soft.

Too many guys worried about getting a big contract and then avoiding any contact resulting in them not having any impact on the game when we needed it.

In a nutshell we need some guys to emerge that want to win a Super bowl aren't afraid to stick their nose in there and lay the wood.
 
Probably Gary(if he plays MLB) until Downs is ready to take the torch.
 
Downs walked on the field at Alabama as a freshman and was instantly their leader on defense

He transferred to OSU and was instantly the leader in defense

I don’t think it will be different here
 
Williams or DMO should be the leader.... But would love DOWNS to be that guy.

I think now one of the vets. Not every great player is also a leader but Q or Gary might be that type. It’s funny because back in the day our deep snapper was a team captain so it’s hard to say who the guys will follow

Bill Bates was a leader back in the day and he certainly wasn't the most talented player on the team but he had a heart and was tough as nails and people respected him
 
Unfortunately I just don't see anybody on this defense yet that has a personality to inspire and lead other men hopefully someone will emerge.

So you're saying that if Treyvon Diggs came back he'd have a shot at being defensive leader?
