Oh those "draft experts" and there never wrong opinions?
They got Josh Ball wrong

What are you talking about? I said, It's VERY clear the Cowboys roster today is significantly better than it was at the end of last season. And I'm right. You brought up Shelton for some reason.
A lot more than just him. They got Josh Ball wrong
Fair enough. I should have mentioned that he played in all 17. His YPC definitely needed to be better. For all the concerns about drops, though, he only had four to go with three fumbles. That's too many but some make it seem like he was a liability on the field, which is far from accurate. He is the eighth-highest-paid TE in the league while he was third in receptions and 11th or lower in yards, so I think he's getting paid about what his value is.This is misleading. He played in all 17 games. Just because he didn't start doesn't mean he didn't play a the majority of snaps. In week 14 against Detroit, for instance, he played a season-high 80% of offensive snaps despite not being a starter.
You simply can't have drops and fumbles when the majority of your targets are check downs. His yards/reception ranked 91 and his ADOT ranked 72.
You can do worse as a player, but for what he is paid, Ferg is poor value. What made him good originally was his ability after the catch, and that's disappeared.
I guess I just fundamentally disagree with the idea that he's not a liability. 4 drops and 3 fumbles is a liability, especially the fumbles, and it's been two years in a row.Fair enough. 4 drops the whole year? That’s nothing. 3 fumbles? Not good but probably overblown.I guess I just fundamentally disagree with the idea that he's not a liability. 4 drops and 3 fumbles is a liability, especially the fumbles, and it's been two years in a row.
I like Ferg, but he just does not give you enough juice to justify putting the ball on the ground. A running back who fumbles 4 times a year would be a liability.
Do you think Ferg is getting less than 10 yards because he can’t go any farther or could it be the scheme and what he’s asked to do?I would like to see the HC incorporate Spann Ford into more than 13 targets as was 2025 . The guy seems to be able go downfield ( beyond the 10 yard Ferguson radius ) get open and do damage . Think about red zone and what Spann Ford offers Prescott as a target .
I know, but they didn’t go right back to Bledsoe in a couple weeks when he was healthy again, just because he had the crash big contract. That’s my point in that it would be about performance only, not draft position of contract status. If I remember correctly, Brady got his chance because of a nasty injury that Bledsoe suffered. Not by competition.
Body broke down way too fast, on some Zeke sh**Do you think Ferg is getting less than 10 yards because he can’t go any farther or could it be the scheme and what he’s asked to do?
We don’t have anyone at QB at Brady’s level, or Quincy’s for that matter. Did you really want 140 yards per game Rush starting? Or do you prefer Milton?I know, but they didn’t go right back to Bledsoe in a couple weeks when he was healthy again, just because he had the crash big contract. 2023 - 10.7 ypcTo be honest after watching Ferguson since his rookie year I don’t think he’s a downfield threat .
2023 - 10.7 ypc
2024 - 8.4 ypc
2025 - 7.3 ypc
He is trending in the wrong direction. His check-down QB isn't helping.
If you know anything about the entire league, you'd know there are far worse team regarding TE than the cowboys, and that includes the Panthers who actually has the worse TE group in the league. We have one of the worst TE rooms in the league. I have never understood the hype for Lunda.
This FO does roster building like they made the championship game and just need to add another player to get over the top.I’m realistic about the success or lack of . You’re 7-9-1 not coming out of perpetual playoff runs . You have to see as a FO how do you upgrade the roster or else you’re stuck in a cycle of mediocrity .
