This is misleading. He played in all 17 games. Just because he didn't start doesn't mean he didn't play a the majority of snaps. In week 14 against Detroit, for instance, he played a season-high 80% of offensive snaps despite not being a starter.

You simply can't have drops and fumbles when the majority of your targets are check downs. His yards/reception ranked 91 and his ADOT ranked 72.

You can do worse as a player, but for what he is paid, Ferg is poor value. What made him good originally was his ability after the catch, and that's disappeared.

I would like to see the HC incorporate Spann Ford into more than 13 targets as was 2025 . The guy seems to be able go downfield ( beyond the 10 yard Ferguson radius ) get open and do damage . Think about red zone and what Spann Ford offers Prescott as a target .

Not to mention Michael Trigg who seems to be a hybrid receiver / TE who seems from what Baylor tape showed can get downfield and make plays .

If I remember correctly, Brady got his chance because of a nasty injury that Bledsoe suffered. Not by competition.

Who knows about weight room and praccy but I’m sure he’s gapping Ferg and forcing them to play this hand. He is a better blocker so it could be more disguise in the playbook having him as the primary TE if he can catch 4-5 balls a game.

To be honest after watching Ferguson since his rookie year I don’t think he’s a downfield threat . 3rd and 8 he may get you 9 may or it could be 7 . The radius is around 10 yards . I think it’s more the player then the play caller .

I’ve seen Sgt Schultz in Houston help out Stroud downfield . To be honest I’m hoping Michael Trigg takes Schoons roster spot and play a trio of Spann Ford Ferguson Trigg and give this QB some options beyond the chains if the WR’s are covered

We have one of the worst TE rooms in the league. I have never understood the hype for Lunda.

If you know anything about the entire league, you'd know there are far worse team regarding TE than the cowboys, and that includes the Panthers who actually has the worse TE group in the league.

The cowboys actually have the TE group with the highest potential in the league with Ferguson, spann-ford, and trigg.

The cowboys issue isnt the TE room, its how they properly utilize them.

I’m realistic about the success or lack of . You’re 7-9-1 not coming out of perpetual playoff runs . You have to see as a FO how do you upgrade the roster or else you’re stuck in a cycle of mediocrity .

This FO does roster building like they made the championship game and just need to add another player to get over the top.
