PFT: Dak; QBs are judged by winning that last game

lol. No you really comparing him, Brady, and Mahomes.
If he doesn’t have Shaquan Barkley, they lose that last Super Bowl, and the ball should’ve been intercepted against the Patriots, the cornerback dropped it, cause that game was over too, Jalen hurts, LMAO
Saquon Barkley had 56 yards in the Super Bowl and was a non-factor. Please know what the heck you are talking about before you start trying to argue.

During the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, Saquon Barkley recorded 57 rushing yards on 14 carries and 40 receiving yards on multiple receptions

They don’t win that game without him, Jalen hurts LMAO

Sir, you don’t have to explain or lie to me like I said I didn’t directly call you out I wasn’t trying to embarrass you….you just came out jumping off the porch. When you guys start explaining your post at a certain time because of a time zone all I can do is laugh lol.

2-5
I live in NZ. That must be very confusing.

You are judged by how you play in all areas at all times
BUT for a QB, Playoffs and big games are what people remember.
and in that area Dak simply has not played up to the money he is making. He is certainly not alone. Mahoomes and Stafford (somewhat) are about the only ones that you could say have earned theirs all the way.
Burrows too I guess but being with the Bungles is crippling anyway. Allen has turned it over too often when it mattered; Rodgers really is not as great as his rep; Stroudt has sucked. Goff has been meh; Mayes not enough yet to really judge.
Allen has walked off the field with a lead and 37 seconds on the clock in the afccg. Allen and Burrow have made bad teams true contenders. There are different circumstances.

30M for the first one and 40M for the second.
but that's not reality of NFL....what fans percieve as value, is not how the market works. forexample, for several years, Mahomes was 10th in salary and by far he is the best in the NFL.

even Geno Smith got a 37M contract.... Deshaun Watson and all his troubles got 46M average from browns..and he was injured 2 prior years and was on the bench healing supposedly.

now, did Jerry overpay at 60M on his second contract? yes. fans argued he should be at 50 or 55....because he handicapped the salary...reality is that Philly handed out tons of money and large contracts and signed a bunch of their own and FAs. and won a superbowl, pushing money into the future, knowing at some point they are going to be in true cap hell with dead money.

now, if jerry was a normal owner and wasn't just looking for clicks and marketing, he would have, could have resigned Dak for 50-55...instead he cornered himself. no other QB on the roster. didn't go after any other FAs, waited literally until an hour before first game of the season to get contract signed...seriously....

and so 5-10M wasn't the reason we couldn't sign FAs, its Jerry and Stephen being who they are.

we were one of the lowest teams in cash spent, dead money and more towards bottom of the salary cap floor compared to rest of the league (until Dak and CD signing, which skewed us to the middle).

so market value is not player ranking, nor how fans value a player.

I'm giving Hurts his dues on that win. Reid challenged him to beat them and he did. They don't sniff the SB without Barkley though.

Just answering the question. If he wouldn't have signed for $30M +/- I would have traded him for a pile of #1's and a player or two.

Its a figure of speech. For people who want to stat you to death bc they only have statistical metrics to go off of and not championships.
Seeing these two replies literally back-to-back is just pure comedic gold.

Especially when you only want to count 60% of the total yards Barkley accounted for that game (leading the offense I may add).

...Jazzy, he's caught in spur of moment with these idiots.

You have to think FAST, sum up something special and new to get them, .. to shut up.

They want clicks, and Dak unfortunately, ..is the fall guy.
Poor Dak.

It really rubbed me the wrong way when the coaching staff elected to go with this guy over Romo for the playoffs in 2016. I understand he was part of their success, but the Cowboys were pretty good that year with three pro-bowl offensive lineman and arguably the top offensive playmaker in Zeke. History also demonstrated that you don't win the SB with a rookie QB. Having said that, I moved on - as the decision was the coaches to make - and like any Cowboys fan rooted for Dak to succeed. But, like you, he lost me when he went on some personal crusade - on behalf of the brotherhood - to make himself the highest paid player in NFL history. For what? Two wildcard playoff wins.
Garrett wouldn't have won COTY if Romo was given the job back. Maybe a SB, but he chose his priorities.

The thing is...most starting rookie QBs don't get the luxury of that team. Just ask Burrow what kind of team rookie QBs start on. They get chose high first round because the team sucks....and they have to start on them.

Double Down Jerry did his thing. Thought he could outsmart the law of averages (A vet QB the team was built for).

. Acted like it was a Vegas table and a few hundred bucks. He even said it "Don't mess with a win streak".

Im sorry to disappoint you but every year, someone in sports demands to be the highest at their positions, and at that point their team has never won a championship and may never win a championship.

Thats just the world of sports and contracts. I guess you may be irked alot throughout your lifetime watching sports. Dak isn't the first and definitely won't be the last.
So he's not the leader everyone says he is....he's the same selfish person as so many others.

Stafford excuses?

he should be able to win it all by himself.... just like dak went 7-9-1....

or am I missing something.

this is not a defense of Dak, but using the same measure for both.
Except there is no comparison talent wise between Dak and Stafford.

AAV:
Patrick Mahomes $64M
Dak Prescott $60M
Josh Allen $55M
Joe Burrow $55M
Lamar Jackson $52M

From your list, the cheapest is Lamar at only 8M/year less than Dak. Not exactly “team-friendly”. These are all very expensive contracts.

I’m confused on why Dak is being criticized for being “all business” when his non-SB winning counterparts aren’t?
Maybe look a little deeper into the differences?
