I don't understand the picks involved

Why is Charlotte trading a 2029 FRP? Bridges is in the last year of his deal, so it's not really saving them anything long term. I get it's least favorable among a few teams... UTH, CLE and MIN so we're talking late first round, but why attach the pick?

Not sure Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale now that they seem to be starting over? Maybe the assumption is they'll get a bigger return near the trade deadline to a contender, which I can see.

i think it’s more that they are starting over, resetting their culture (Ball and Bridges traded this offseason, Mark Williams last season) once they determined this core wasn’t going to contend.

Charlotte is full of shooters now.

Then why give up the pick... yea, I think they're starting over, but unless they think they can deal Grayson and Royce for FRPs, I don't get it
