Easy there, Captain-Save-A-Jerry. Seems the random arrow found its target.
No one needs to be Micah's agent, they only need to look at how the markets work and had been working. I've been over this quite a few times after the Micah salary inflators do their thing but let me lay it out here. After Parsons Year 3, Bosa was tops in the league at $34M AAV, signed before that season began. Bosa was fresh off of beating out Parsons for DPOY the year prior. With Micah next in line to get paid, how much more than $34M could he demand seeing as Bosa just topped him with performance the year before? So you give him $35M, the player is happy because they're top paid plus injury protection, and the agent is happy because they have another "highest paid" notch in their belt to promote to other athletes. Even if it's $36M that's still a lot less than $47M (so is $37M or $38M).
It would be agent malpractice not to pursue this seeing as Parsons plays violent and could get injured and lose out on top $. So of course he approached Jerry as he said he did and reported that Jerry said no. It is also front office malpractice to not lock up a 3-time All-Pro pass rusher, one that you lucked into when Denver took Surtain. If Jerry wasn't sure about Parsons, maybe you trade then or still lock him up and then when Crosby, Watt and/or Garrett sign and you want to pivot and trade him, he is the youngest and cheapest of the blue chip pass rushers. Done at the right time (and not 8 days before the season) that could have netted a much bigger gold mine of a return. But when you "$47M!" exaggerators use this hot air reasoning to justify an emotional trade, you also have to ignore Jerry's short-sighted nonsense that makes this marshmallow excuse-making necessary.
What's pretty funny is after the trade Jerry went chasing after Crosby whose extension was signed at ....... wait for it ...... $35.5M AAV, or about what you could have had Parsons at and traded away for a big haul of picks instead of now offering up picks. This is what you people want to defend just to spite Micah? Still a free country but don't get mad when that tapdance is pointed out.
