Mel Gray, Montgomery and of course the Refs.

Fun Fact: Did you know Sonny Jurgenson is in the Hall of Fame and NEVER won a playoff game.

I had a late 70's Zenith 19" that lasted until about 5 years ago. It's last 15 years it served as the garage tv hooked up to loop of copper tubing as a makeshift antenna.

Watched SB12, SB 27, SB28, and SB30 on that TV.

It was a sad moment when I tossed it out of the back of my truck onto a pile of broken and battered electronics at the recycling center.

I wasn't born until 1978. But I have read many, many books on the Cowboys.

Imagine the Zone in 1965. Up to that point, Dallas' record was 18-46-1. Owner Clint Murchison gave coach Tom Landry a ten year extension.

Imagine that happening in today's NFL. Spoiler alert: it wouldn't.

Let's think about this for a bit and then discuss...if this were 1979, would many Zoners be ripping Roger for losing to the Steelers? He should've thrown a better pass to Jackie Smith, Landry was a genius in the early 70s, but now, the league has caught up to him...etc. what else would we be complaining about?

No complaints even further back than that because you could at least see a little light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel officially closed 30 years ago. It took me about 15 of those 30 to become a realist and know for 100% certain, this team will never win another championship as long as dumbo and company are running the show. How can you put stock in an organization that doesn’t value the most important position on the field?

Rodgers played for the love of the game. Our QB plays for the love of money and himself.

Thats the biggest reason why we view what he does differently. Be authentic and we judge you else. Be a fake and you get what you deserve.

Complains are part of the game though.

I’m guilty as charged for dogging the “homers.” I think it’s a way of releasing frustration for Jerry destroying something that I grew up loving. I’ve got too many positive things going on in my life of retirement to put stock in the Jerry’s. These aren’t my Cowboys.

I think that's a bit unfair, brother. I think most here want Dak to win, they just have no faith in him. Staubach didn't fold in the playoffs. That being said, Due to the 2025 season, I think Dak's turned a corner and we won't see that same folding he does if the Cowboys make the playoffs. However I think my point stands. I think most people here don't want Dak to fail, they just have no faith. Only a select few seem to relish when the Cowboys fail with Dak at the helm.

1979 was Staubach's last season. He retired in March of 1980 and the Danny White era would begin. Three NFC championship games in a row... 1980-82. I'm still complaining about losing all three!.

Danny was a very good QB. IMO…the 3rd best to put on the star. He, Meredith and Romo are kinda lumped together after Staubach and Aikman. I don’t think Danny could overcome Jerry’s ignorance.

we had so much talent; though the O line was starting to degrade. Our D line was one of the very best in the NFL and TD was still a great back. Pearson and Hill
On D the line and Thurmans Thieves in the secondary
That team should have one at least one SB

Thanks for memory lane! That was a good ride! We knew we at least had a shot every year, going into the season.

Very painful. Just heart wrenching.

Living 20 miles south of Philly, I took my lumps in the 1980 NFCCG when Dallas played Philly at the bitter cold Vet. Up unitl then, Philly sports talk radio was very entertaining. I would have been on here b!tching about not playing well in the cold. We looked awful!
