Why do people watch the Dallas Cowboys?

There are millions upon millions of people who watch the Cowboys to see them lose in ever more creative ways. A good clown show will always draw ratings.

Win lose or draw the Cowboys are America's team due to the success that they have continually built over decades. Yeah they haven't won a SB in a long time, but we still win more than we lose. I understand people overlook winning / wins if you are not winning the SB, but wins are wins and you have to consistently win in order to gic=ve your self a chance to win the SB. From I count all wins as success, yes I want to win 'sis more than anyone else but until that happens again I along with everyone else have to ;be satisfied with the wins we get that's not a SB win.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this. The passion of us old-timers and not so old-timers of the 90s version have passed that on to our kids and anyone around us. My son wasn't a fan when he first got into football but told me that my passion rubbed off on him.

Apparently, some people don't understand rhetorical questioning. But I am certain that many people across the country don't watch this team based on value.

Until we started to win, and then people came out of the woodwork, out of every corner, started cheering for the Cowboys
They hide until we win, that’s the casual fan I think

Are you keeping a list? Do you need names? Why do you ask? If i'm at home there are always 2 others in the room with me.

Large fan base along with many fanbases that I believe are jealous of the attention we always get and can’t stand us. Just look at all the primetime games we get every single year. We are also in a division with other big markets.

But another contributing factor? If you look at the last 20 years or so, we play in some of the absolute most ridiculous games ever. Wild comebacks, crazy back and forth games, etc.

One of my best friends said it best back in the Romo years, and he’s a Giants fan. “The Cowboys are the best reality show on television”… I don’t think he was wrong with that assessment, even though it’s taken years off my life.

That's my issue. I don't spend nearly as much time on a team that hires Eberflus and then doesn't fire him until after the season. I'm in passive fan mode.

I was having a discussion about the business of the NFL a few days ago, and something interesting was evident. Companies that look at fan analytics based on attendance, merchandise sales, social engagement, TV ratings, and search volume find that seven teams are consistently at or near the top is those categories collectively. Number one is our own Dallas Cowboys. The other teams are New England, Philly, Green Bay, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, with the NYG and Chicago just behind the pack depending on the year.

The sad part of this? Every team listed has at least been to the NFC or AFC Championship game this century, with most being in or winning a Super Bowl. The lone exception? The Dallas Cowboys. So, how are we the most popular team in the country despite not winning anything of significance since the 1990's? Are we truly riding the coattails of being called America's Team almost 50 years ago?

Apprentely. Younger genertations with the advent of fantasy leagues etc.. , root more for players not so much for teams. Im olschool. Once Blue always Blue, as much as it hurts

I read this article. My take on it? The writer is saying (paraphrasing) "As long as we do well during the regular season, who cares about post season." So much emptiness in that article.

Well, i didnt read it but what said in quotes doesnt differ much from the Joneses approach.
