2025-26 NBA Season

I’m curious to why they preferred Morez over Burries. There’s a method to it I just don’t know. I know the argument is Morez fits but Burries does to. But I’m fine with both.

Rez College coach which won a championship is now Dallas HC . I don’t think that can be downplayed in the least in the eventual selection of your first rounder .

I was a bit taken aback when the new regime made its first seismic decision for this franchise they hired out of the college ranks not the pros I find that fascinating. I hope it works.

The Knicks to get over the hump and win the title went with the veteran NBA guy in Brown . Of course Dallas is nowhere near that level yet .

Yeah but apparently Rez was the guy before even hiring May. If you believe them.

I believe nothing until proven . You hire his coach then three days later he’s your # 1 pick of this new regime that’s what I see . Hopefully all works out because Burries could be a generational floor general ( Brunson )

Well to assume it was a May pick is essentially saying the Mavs don’t have a draft process. They didn’t scout for a year. Is there a scenario where they wanted a few guys and all of them got taken? Sure. I honestly believe he fits what Ujiri likes. He seems like a Pascal Siakam starter kit but with better defense.

Dusty denied choosing Morez as his personal pick. He mentioned at the end of the Mavs first summer game that Masai Ujiri already decided on Morez before they even hired him

Here's a write-up regarding Masai's role and why he likes players like Morez

"
About halfway through this video of Ujiri calling Johnson to congratulate him, Johnson’s new boss tells him “you’re all mine…” in a cadence that makes me worried for Johnson and opposing offenses at the same time. They could be very wrong about this, but I think they believe they just drafted a future Defensive Player of the Year candidate.

Time and time again during his tenure in Toronto, Ujiri hunted players with unusual physical tools for their position; bigger, longer, defense-first players whom he bet that would develop their offense down the line. He has been very successful with this approach, but the downside can be that you end up with positional redundancy and many good-but-not-great players. "
