Execs, coaches, scouts rank top NFL quarterbacks for 2026

It's hard to get sources on the record if you never leave the studio. They sent out hundreds of emails and 70 responded. Then wrote an article.
They stated they sent hundreds of emails and 70 responded. The only confirmation is their statement of actions taken to create the article(s).

Edit (per the first sentence of the reply): The media representative's location relative to the person being asked the question is irrelevant in this era of communication.

The following is an incomplete list of current communication methods used by the media:
  • Text/SMS
  • Voicemail
  • Video call
  • Fax
Emails are as impersonal and professional a means of communication with sources as those listed above.

. My response was simple: they weren't making $60 million a year. That's relevant because when your quarterback takes up that much of the salary cap, the expectations are different.
Oh please.......this whole salary argument is soooo misguided. Where were these arguments when Dak or any other QB played at an elite level on rookie contracts? These QBs don't pay themselves; owners choose to make the highest-paid players. That doesn't change the team's responsibility to give them as much support as possible to protect their investment. Hell, that's common sense....it's the nature of the position. There was a time when Tony Romo was the highest-paid NFL QB and guess what? We still have the same results today ( limited playoff success). Romo played 13 years and Dak is in his 10th year. That's 23 years........three head coaches but ONE GM and OWNER.

I'm done blaming players........they are interchangeable. I now see why many posters and fans blame Jerry.

Yeah the salary thing is such crap. Especially when his cap hits have been manageable. Cowboys have mismanage their cap and drafts they put themselves in this mess. They’ve done a solid job this year of building a proper team I’ll give them that but it’s still some weaknesses that were created by years of neglect.

This is very confusing

If the Cowboys win a SB with Dak, wont Dak be the one getting credit for leading them to the win or will it be the punter?

Please try to answer this Q
By casual fans like yourself yes. They tend to blame everything on the QB disregarding the other 52 players and coaches and front office folks. Yes, it is very confusing but when you consider the source, it all makes sense.

Dak’s mental makeup is why he folds in the playoffs. He doesn’t have the mental toughness and fortitude to handle those high pressure situations.
This man has lost his Mother to Cancer and his Brother to suicide, takes shots about his football IQ and his ability to play his position from the very people who are supposed fan and you don’t think he’s mentally tough? C’mon man….

Plain and simple.

Nothing more needs to be said.
Unless the post you are replying to directly called out the family loss Dak has had, his QB play and clear issues with freezing up have ZERO to do with dealing with tragic loss. It is more than evident that Dak lacks awareness at times, and in key situations particularly. Is he the only QB to experience this? Clearly, other top QB's not named Patrick have a similar issue

Well in all fairness, the Cowboys offensive line was ranked 21st overall last season and our defense was ranked 32nd and we still managed to win 7 games somehow.

What do you believe kept us from making the playoffs last season? In your opinion, was it the offense or defense?

Let me remind you that the offense ranked top 5 despite all the other things that I've listed.....
The chargers OL made ours look like we were elite. If ours was that bad, we would not even have won 7 games

I can excuse a bad offensive line for why you don’t win a ring. But a bad offensive line doesn’t stop you from winning in the regular season. Burrow and Cj Stroud have shown that.

That excuse can only go so far….and btw his line was bad last year because of injuries. The line has been good there for the most part.
The chargers made the playoffs with that horrible line.

Teams make the playoffs all the time with bad lines, even win. You can’t win a ring with a bad line. But we see offenses produce wit bad lines. Cowboys line wasn’t greater. Produced with terrible tackle play.
I think you missed my original point. I wasn’t commenting on your overall arguments. But you can’t say the Chargers had a good line to make your point. They were the worst in the league. And yes it was because they had backups to the backups to the backups but that doesn’t matter, they were still the worst

Maybe I got lost somewhere I thought the argument was Herber has underachieved all these years because of his line. I was just disagreeing it hasn’t been an issue. He’s had weapons. Last year was the exception.
