Snowden suspended 3 games

What about the Ex Detroit Lion involved in a Dateline NBC type fiasco . If he ever plays a down in the NFL again the suspension should be half a season

It's a little like court cases. One offender can get three years in prison and another four years of probation. A lot of the times, it depends on how many other offenses that the person has committed that maybe he wasn't punished for.
This is true. But we're not talking about a court suspending him. Why is the NFL doing it? It's not like he drives or operates heavy equipment for the NFL. I can understand the NFL trying to protect their image, but in cases like this, they're just bringing attention to it. Otherwise most people wouldn't know, nor does anyone care if he gets suspended for this by the league. Let the justice system deal with it. Is that not enough?

I don't view Snowden as a talent that's indispensable to this team by any means. He'd best make the most of his opportunity if he wants to be retained, whether it's as a starter or not. Not a big deal. He'll do well to push those boos away from himself if he wants to be a starter. Good luck, in any case! ;)

If he’s convicted or pleas he will never play again,

If he does sign as a free agent, the NFL is highly likely to place him on the Commissioner's Exempt List immediately

What will happen is. team signs him, knowing he will be put on the exempt list. This way they retain future rights. They also get a roster exemption if he’s on the list.

Players on he list do get paid but what any team in this situation will do so load the contract with zero guarantees, and conduct clauses that can void the deals.

They will set it up so he gets small, weekly game checks, enough to pay his lawyers I’m sure and he will jsut sit.

Dude is facing eight felonies, most of which are violent

Considering this moron was text messaging commands to his goons when they had the victims at gunpoint, he’s gonna go down,

Absolute mimum, if Jesus gave character testimony and the president showed up and said he’s a wayward kid, would still be ten years.

If this was the Cowboys I’d be mad , can’t believe that some quality franchises are actually involved

When Ezekiel Elliott got his 6 game suspension merely based on "substantial and persuasive evidence", AND despite the NFLs lead investigator ( a female) recommending "no suspension", we should have all known how Cowboys players would be treated

It amazes me other players get away with things with no suspension but a cowboy always gets suspended!
Because the NFL is managing image, not behavior, and the Cowboys get press and so the same behavior from a Cowboys brings more negative attention to the NFL than a player doing the same thing from the Browns. Just have to live with it.

Thanks for explaining his situation doesn’t sound like he’s playing anymore .
A thread was created asking if “ Dallas should sign him “ …

Domestic Abuse -6 games
Performance Enhancing Drugs -6 games 1st offense -17 games 2nd offense
Spitting on a Player -1 game

Well, I never underestimate the nature of lawyers and the courts or the innate lack of justice in our justice.

Witnesses in these athlete cases become forgetful and co-conspirators suddenly become lone wolves.

We’ll see what his lawyers can cook up and how kids evidence they can get excluded

I assume that maybe he's been in the drug-test program and they've been having trouble with him. Then, he does this and they hand him a three-game suspension when maybe they wouldn't do that with a player who hasn't had any other problems.

But it is the NFL, so it seems like the reasoning can be quite arbitrary.

Wouldn’t touch him with a 10 foot pole . I noticed the Lions bailed like DB Cooper out of the plane

It would be odd to get "suspended" at your regular job for it. They'd either let you work or get fired.

NFL is weird, even for a sports organization.
The "justice" system said Zeke was not guilty, and even have witnessess saying she lied. NFL's own female investigator said there's nothing there. The Cowboys execs wanted to be done with the matter. But GODell suspends him?

MEanwhile Ray Lewis does NFL commentary.

Meanwhile, the NFL is in bed with sports betting, advertising spreads before and during game. So an entity that could possibly affect it's own outcome, urges you to bet on it?

Weird stuff.

It's just weird. Let the team suspend him if they want. Why does the league have to get involved? These aren't alter boys and everyone knows it.
