Should be traded.Kicking Schoon off is just triganomics

Spann-Ford is their best blocker. Schoonmaker was good at Michigan, but he's been horrible with the Cowboys.Shoon is the best blocking te. He’s gonna have to play lights out to take our best blocking TE out. He’s most likely gonna be on PS
I think his salary this year is guaranteed, and they rarely get rid of guys they have to pay anyway.Math was never my strong suit, but the way I figure it.

No, he's been cutable since last year. $389K dead money. $1.6m cap savings.I think his salary this year is guaranteed, and they rarely get rid of guys they have to pay anyway.
Isnt this year 4 of his rookie deal?
Maybe they could trade him?
All the udfa's get a similar contract. He did get $280K guaranteed which basically guaranteed a practice squad spot. But I do think he has the talent to make the team. They didn’t give the man a three year contract and $3m to sit on the practice squad. It would honestly be more of a surprise if he doesn’t make it
A lot of excellent content and fully explains the title.No. The headline is clickbait. I don't click on clickbait.
Exactly what was he better at?Schoonmaker was good at Michigan, but he's been horrible with the Cowboys.
Yeah, that $280k was a lot more than the other udfas. It was more than most 7th round picks and close out what 6th round picks get although those guys get a fourth year. All the udfa's get a similar contract. Considering the number of 3 TE sets Schottenheimer likes to run I'm guessing they keep 4.Math was never my strong suit, but the way I figure it.

I generally try to avoid what looks like clickbait since I don't want to contribute to that. You say it's not clickbait; others don't seem to think so, but maybe they didn't read it either. I still won't click on it because of the title, just like I don't click on all the talking heads that just try to run up their numbers.A lot of excellent content and fully explains the title.
It's a shame you missed out.

Yeah, he really wasn't very good in college.Exactly what was he better at?
Look it's nice to have hope for some of these guys and that's great lot of upside but to say he's closing in on a roster spot why do these guys always do that and yes the resource you cited is one of those that mostly are all rumors and rhetoric and hyperbole It's always shock value they're way over the top... Not the worst but they are bad at it you can't close in on a roster spot until you've gone through camp and preseason we need to see the full picture not the pajama party that they just went through..Really rooting for Trigg to make the 53. He would add a lot to the offense.
Cowboys Headlines: UDFA impresses; Trigg closing in on roster spot?
Cowboys Wire
July 15, 2026
The Dallas Cowboys have a strong track record of finding undrafted free agents who not only make the roster but also find ways to contribute early.
On offense, Michael Trigg may have the best shot of any UDFA to make the Cowboys' final 53-man roster. Trigg brings something different to the tight end room with his ability to stretch the field vertically.
