Spagnola: Alas, Paying Respect to CMDR Prescott

Stuck in a horrible franchise like Detroit. Dak on the other hand came into a situation that most rookie QB's that get drafted can only ever dream of. A terrific OLine, running game, receiver and a not so terrible defense and that went nowhere.
He was a rookie. Tell me how many rookie QB starters have ever been on a Super Bowl winning team. Hint: 0

Why speculate? Just wake me up when it happens.
Speculate, not really, just not expecting bad to happen, just like not expecting good to happen, I agree it’s wait and see, but why be negative,

But I think you missed the point of what I said
Even if Prescott wins in the playoff, people will still hate him, that’s not speculation, that’s FACT

Because negative is all that has occurred.
Still looking backwards, we had a great offense last season
You don’t like the new defensive hire, you didn’t like the draft
You didn’t like the free agents we picked up

I have no idea what the defensive hire is going to do. All we have is that he worked for the eagles as a competent co-ordinator.

They don't particularly show one way or the other that somehow this defense is radically improved. Now given how bad it was last year even a slight improvement is good, but that doesn't mean anything with regards to this team competing for anything. Best I can say is that we have a chance to not end up last in the NFC East.

I'm shocked that this thread got jacked.

*end of sarcasm

Well I have to ask. If this is how you really feel, why watch or follow any Cowboys games or Cowboys related information? You feel you can determine the outcome based on the past, then why watch?

Why are you here in these Cowboys related threads? There's millions of things you can be doing with your free time other than watching a team that you feel so negatively about, correct?

And for the record, the goal is to win a Superbowl for all 32 teams. Every season, only one team accomplishes that goal and the other 31 fall short.

So yeah.... why are you here?

Because the outcome remains true until they prove me wrong. I hope they can prove me wrong but so far it doesn't look like it.

You remind me of Steven A. Smith with the "just sit there and wait for it. What can go wrong, will go wrong" syndrome. According to Steven A's logic, he's proven right if the Cowboys don't win the Superbowl every year, but the same can be said for 31 other teams.

What do you consider "proving you wrong"? The only way the Cowboys can prove you wrong is to win a Superbowl? Hell, I can point to any sports franchise and say if they don't win a championship then im proven right. That way, I look like a genius because no team is going to win a championship every year, so the odds are in my favor to be right more than being wrong.

Its football bro. The shortest season of any major professional sport i believe. Just enjoy the highs and lows of supporting your favorite team, its not that serious. Ive been a Cowboys fan long enough to experience watching them win a Superbowl on tv in the late 70's, went through the mediocre drought during the 80s despite solid football played at times, back to the mountain top for years in the early 90s, then back to watching mediocre football again for a long time after that and now we're here..... im still alive, long time Cowboys that are still alive are still here.

Just enjoy the game the best you can for a couple months and enjoy your family and the holidays and everything that really matters in life. Don't strap yourself down with negative expectations in any facet of your life.

The same reason your wife can annoy the hell out of you but you still stay married to her.

Well in all fairness, if I leave the Cowboys as a fan, they can't take half of my possessions, finances and everything else ive built or worked hard for, so.... i can't agree with ya there my guy.

Im a Cowboys fan for life, no question, but I only have to deal with them for at most, over 4 months. Im with my wife daily. With that said, I have been with the Cowboys longer then I've even known my wife though!! LOL!

I guess there’s no helping you then, try to enjoy the season
