Rate the last movie you saw

My family wanted to watch “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” the other night

A disjointed, boring movie filled with cliches that wastes the talent of actors like Jesse Eisenberg, Lizzy Caplan and Woody Harrelson. A predictable plot that lacks any substantial depth. Yet somehow, they’re making a 4th.

I’d give it a 4.7/10. Not “bad” but absolutely boring to me, and doesn’t even compare to the very fun and creative first film of the series.
 

Not bad. It has it's issues and you can tell it was done on a lesser budget but still not bad. I think it is currently free on Tubi or Pluto


I liked this one as well. Halle is still looking beautiful.



Really enjoyed this one. Mix of the last of us and Dawn of the Dead. Fun watch. Not sure if it will beat out Train To busan as the top Korean movie of this genre but I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to watching the other Korean movie Hope.

King of the Hill Season 15 - 10/10

King of the Hill’s revival is the best TV revival of all time. Season 14 was alright, but season 15 fits right in with the early seasons. It is great.

THAT'S how you make a superhero movie. Excellent dialogue. Excellent cinematography. Excellent acting (even minor characters did very well). Excellent direction. Excellent special effects. Not one second of the film is wasted. Even the lone end credits cut scene was great. Extremely short, but great.

Heck. I may go see it again.

I'd give it a 9. I think it had a little of the problem The Amazing Spider-Man 2 had. Too much setting up for later. But not nearly as bad, still a really good move, so a solid 9.

Wow. I’ve never been much of a Spider-Man fan, but you’re really selling me here.
 


Meh...some funny spots but many of his movies just don't do it for me. Liked the Wedding Ringer and the serious one with Bryan Cranston but for the most part they are just kind of ok.

I gave it a solid 9 for its first 10-15 minutes. They really continued Peter Parker's story from No Way Home perfectly without skipping a beat. It stayed a 9 until the identification of the main villain. Then my grade (just my opinion, of course) rose steadily from that point forward.

The movie will run its course like all movies do, but I am 100% in support of Marvel/Disney's (or even Sony if they had input) casting choice for the villain. EVERYONE! PLEASE DO NOT ID THE ACTOR! THAT WOULD BE A SPOILER!

The actor had already been on my short list for the Marvel Cinematic Universe future. I am personally and totally satisfied with the pick. I can kinda *see* similar upcoming casting choices made by the studio. Or I hope so. It feels like they may go comic book old-school in a sense. That direction would re-energize the MCU from this old comic book geek's perspective.

That said, I do fully expect some audience criticism of the casting choice for the usual superficial reasons, lol.

I thought the casting choice was fantastic, actually. There was some CGI in the beginning that was terrible, but otherwise, the cgi was good. I can't mention WHICH CGI, but think Tombstone Pizza.

Sorry. I am clueless about the reference, so I am likely totally forgetting what you are referring to.

What you said did make me think of something I was debating while watching the movie. It was CGI of one actor's face. Or what I thought was CGI. I could not decide if I was right or wrong, and I finally stopped questioning it because my thoughts started feeling insulting to the actor. I doubt that is what you are talking about, though.

The CGI of the character of Tombstone (His face) as part of the montage of what he was doing in the beginning of the film. It just looked TERRIBLE

I'm avoiding most modern remakes as they universally let me down, and a lot of the times offend me. That includes the new He-Man movie. I'll stick with the Dolph Lundgren 80s movie as corny as it is.

I only considered watching it because my nephew recommended it. I think having kids has altered his taste in entertainment.

No, this was definitely better than that one...Of course, that's a very low bar.
