Rate the last movie you saw

It was good. The slow setup part was a tad boring but after that it got better.
I think I like far from home better overall.

Marvel movies can irk you because they take different liberties with some characters continuity and their time lines. Like a Young Jean Grey in this one. No professor X or the school yet. On a side note, the young actor playing Jean Grey did a good job and I also thought she did great in the Fear Street movies. On the ending scene...are they setting up Secret Wars?
I wanna get deeper into a continuity/time lines discussion but I am not gonna geek out too much, lol. Disney/Marvel does have some sort of plan with the mutants though. Those characters were all FOX properties until the last few years. Nothing seen in X-Men 2000 through Dark Phoenix 2019 applies to the MCU that began with Iron Man in 2008. Even recent stuff like Deadpool vs. Wolverine does not directly tie into the MCU.

The plan is inserting the mutants logically. This Jean Grey isn't the one that audiences have become accustomed to.

For me, it feels like they might take a two-prong approach. They have a few mutants who have suddenly appeared already. Ms. Marvel was hinted as a mutant in her Disney+ series. Namor flat-out identified himself as one in Wakanda Forever. And Jean Grey (without counting her sister) makes three MCU confirmations. Peter Parker's arachnid mutancy makes him a mutate instead of a mutant, so he does not count. I think there may not be many more than those three show up going into Doomsday.

As such, I think the first approach is showing Earth-616 having evolved a handful of mutants until now. That has been accomplished now. This is the last phase of the Multiverse Saga. On that premise I believe the second approach will be the studio introducing new actors playing Xavier, Scott, Ororo, Eric, etc., from X-Men/mutant characters who exist in other universes. These non Earth-616 mutants will constitute the bulk of the remaining characters.

If I am right, Doomsday and Secret Wars will combine the two approaches. Jean Grey and Ms. Marvel will suddenly have a bunch of people appear that are like them. And a new Professor X will be there to oversee them all. This is the new beginning I feel MCU will take to re-energize the franchise by adopting the original comic book The Uncanny X-Men storyline. YOUNG mutants being sheltered and taught how to use their gifts to help both themselves and for the world that hates them.

Yep. The end scene is most likely tied to Secret Wars. The ending tag said Spider-Man would return BUT did not specify which movie he would show up in, so I do not think it will be Doomsday.

Most people think he was the best part. I enjoyed it. My 12 year old niece loved it. I think the humor and self depreciation was needed, given how cheesy the source material is.
I'm the same. My 12 year old son loved it...and he has no clue on who He-Man was. He was pumped to see the credit scene and hoping that a new one was on the way.

Some people did not like it at all, some loved it. For me it was kind of in between. I doubt I would buy it later.

A few years ago there was a movie with Viggo called the Road. The movie was well made. Good actors. Good story line. However it might have been the most depressing, dark, bleak movie. Even the color tones mixed in with the movie to make it seem darker.
The death of Robin Hood reminds me of that movie. Dark, Bleak, Depressing...muted color tones to fit in. If you want to watch a slow depressing movie...this is for you.

The one thing I like about the last three evil dead movies is that they went for straight horror and not he slapstick humor added to the originals.
I think the 2013 was good and this one was ok...Evil dead Rise was the weakest of three although it did have some killer special effects and makeup.

Every time I watch one of these evil dead movies I think of this song by deicide that is about the evil dead movies and the necronomicon. And this one was made back in the late 80s or Early 90s
